One of the best descriptions of the Beasts of Humanity I’ve heard is that they are a gameplay mechanics test boss rush for humanity: humanity has to be mature and strong enough to get through whatever facet of humanity that the Beast represents, only instead of blatantly evil, Beast candidates are empowered by a toxic and twisted love. Building off Tiamat, she is the Beast of Regression, where parental love has turned into a smothering affection that prevents any growth. And to say that a shitload is needed to put one down is understating it. Going back to Tiamat, in FGO the stuff they needed to put her down included, in no particular order: • Multiple deities operating at the greatest strength they could be at thanks to the decline of the Age of the Gods not really being a thing yet. • Dropping her into Kursh, the Mesopotamian underworld, to counter the her concept of life. • The then current Grand Assassin SACRIFICING THEIR MANTLE AS GRAND ASSASSIN to get enough power to get the concept of death, aka the ability for Tiamat to die AT ALL, to apply and stick to Tiamat long enough for her to be put down. (Thankfully, all the sacrifice meant was that that particular Servant can no longer be summoned, by anyone or anything, as Grand Assassin; being summoned as a normal Servant is still on the table.) Assume similar or greater amounts of shitloads being thrown about when the other Beasts need a kicking. And they aren’t even the greatest threat to Humanity in the Fate universe! Incidentally, one of those threats is passed the fuck out in South America. One of the fastest ways to be disappeared in universe is to declare your intent to fuck around with the Crystal Spider. Go on, do it, see how fast everyone drops whatever death feud they have going to put you in a forever box!

I expected that they wouldn't let you choose, so it's a pleasant surprise to see that, in fact, they let you choose the route. I guess this determines which ending you get. I doubt that Rider was controlled because unlike the rest of the Servants he could speak normally and without any difficulty.

43:49 well that's actually ISN'T supposed to be this way tho......in Fate/zero it was revealed that noble phantasm's isn't something that you can simply resummon if it's destroyed but then again Prelati's book was damaged by a magic negating spear and it was fine after so i will admit that this rule was pretty loose from the begining.....
