Timex - Expedition North GMT, 41mm Titanium Automatic 'Caller' GMT for $549

As young man growing up in the early 70's I loved the Timex TV Commercials, placing their typical time piece on the end of a pro-skiers ski who swooshes down the mountain. The commercial spokesman would remove the watch at the bottom of the run and show the watch to the camera while exclaiming, "Timex! Takes a licking and keeps on Ticking." Talk about nostalgic. Great review Mark. This one is worth a look over for sure.

Totally thought this was a fixed bezel. Rotating bezel just made this watch a whole lot more interesting.

Another, great review. I like the points you make about up spec'n the watch and the feel it gives you to go out and about and actually use it. That's exactly how I feel about mine, it almost makes me wonder how folks felt about the original "adventure watches" when they just worked, and had purpose before they became what we know them as today. Functional, great looking, accessible.

I'd be all over this one with the Miyota 9075 "true" GMT. I'm not sure if I like the look of the James Brand version as much as this one.

This would be perfect, if it was a 38-39mm case and the lug-to-lug around 46mm. Just a personal preference though. I'm crossing my fingers that Timex will also introduce a smaller version, if not I'll have to skip, sadly.

Just watched this again and it got me thinking that most people that get a GMT watch will probably never use it anyway, so it doesn't matter if it' a traveler or not...I've personally never used any of mine for its intended purpose.... 💁‍♂

I might pay close to £200, but no more. Maybe they need to do a Toyota/Lexus and create a cool sub-brand for which they could charge more. For me, Timex means cheap, acceptable quality, the occasional interesting design, but that's it. By the way, that is clearly a homage - you can't escape the obvious.

The Timex name signify’s a person who wishes to purchase a timepiece where the cost, functions and quality are balanced. The name is as well known as the Rolex.

@@AardvarkAdventure you can get an automatic gmt pagani for 80$ and tandorio offer a nice mechanical gmt for 90$ and both come with a bracelet. The San Martin gmt is 150$
