Seagull is a good chinese brand. Everybody is looking to get the Seagull 1963 military chronograpgh. At this price point it is a brilliant move for timex. Seagull from China is good so would have a Vostok from Russia. Best ebauches at that price point.

I like where they're going with this one. This may sound crazy, but I wish Timex would find a way to add the indiglo feature on this to address the lume issue. Maybe with a solar panel ? Saphir crystal, 10 ATM and indiglo? I'd pay $300 or so for it ! Thanks for the review Chris!❤

Add solar dial & Indiglo to a mechanical watch?Impossible! Solar is essentially quartz powered by optical rechargeable battery. And Indiglo also needs to be powered by battery. But mechanical watches use parts and gears, and don't use batteries.

Nice vid Chris, very well done and informative. As to the Timex, I'm not sure about the price, I mean, as you stated, the VAER is a better watch and even some micro brands and homages are better quality and give you more for less. Timex is been bringing back some of their back catalogs, and cashing on nostalgia. The price is a bit stiff for a Sea-Gull movement, so I'm guessing they are charging a lot for the sapphire crystal and their partnership with Expedition North. Well, either way, I'm sure the price will go down eventually as it is a Timex. Anyway, keep up the great work!
@WatchChris3 жыл бұрын
I think it's a decent price I just wish it had a slightly better strap/buckle and also better lume other than that it's a good watch for the price. Seiko has the SRPG series. You can easily get them for 200 on Amazon. No brainer to me. Timex has been releasing great looking models, but way overpriced for what they offer. Makes no sense asking almost 200 for the Q, for the new GMTs, for the Marlin Hand Wound with the Chinese movement etc

I bought one of these and the crown and stem popped out within 24 hours of receiving the watch. All I did was pull the crown out to the set position to change the time. Seagull is respectable movement. I am hell bent in acquiring the Seagull 1963 military chronograpgh watch. that is a gem. Everyone us buying that bad boy. Seagull quality has imoroved. Same here. I already got the Expedition Scout Solar with the back PVD brass case - it has a Seiko/Epson movement and is one of my most accurate quartz watches in any price range. Firstly I really appreciate this review.. Thankyou Chris! I'd like to know is this a hackable movement? Now here comes the bitching... Timex has done it again! They are poised to be dominant in the market with a.beautiful watch offering and shoot themselves in the foot . Its so frustrating because in my heart I have always loved Timex but can't justify spending a couple hundred on their higher tier watches that consistently fall short of where they should be. Chris IF you are accurate in saying that the seagull movement is a throwaway rather then a service movement then there goes the whole concept of the North line which is supposed to be environmentally friendly with less waste. As someone else mentioned here Indiglo should be added to this watch via solar power or rechargeable battery. Lastly this product should be made in the USA not overseas. It's high time that our legacy companies come home and offer American made products to American consumers and the world.
