Such a great watch! I got a Timex Scout 10+ years ago. This was probably the gateway watch to my collection. It cost me about $35. It’s still ticking (very loudly) but it’s still one of my favorite watches to wear. Can’t wait to see the review!

Finally you have seen the light, indiglo that is hahaha. This is def one of the very best watches Timex has to offer, I absolutely love mine, I have the orange accent seconds hand. Brilliant and you get an affordable watch that has a luxury field watch look, and indiglo is a game changer for sure. Timex Timex Timex!!!!!!!

Just goes to show you don’t have to spend a lot of money to find a watch you like. My two favorite watches I have right now without even a close second are my Casio A168 and Casio F105W with SKXMOD Kits on them. I don’t know why I like them so much. Looking forward to the full review of the Timex!

Greetings James. My first watch as a child was a Timex field watch. Field watches are my favourite. Expecting delivery of a new Hamilton Field Mechanical today. Black dial. Enjoyed the vid. I returned the Damasko DS30.

Like it -- thanks James. The Timex MK1 quartz steel chrono is where it's at for me in terms of a cheap field watch (TW2R68600 with a brushed finish on a green fabric strap). The model has heritage too as it is based on a watch they made for the US Marine Corp back in the 1980s. I really like the domed acrylic crystal and the Indiglo. If the Indiglo stops working then you're likely due a battery change very soon!

I have several Swiss Made mechanical and quartz watches. I wear my Timex Expedition every night. The main reason is for the indiglo to see the time in the dark. It is also very light and comfortable.

Be aware that this watch is a gateway drug! After buying this watch, I bought twenty-four more! You have been warned. On a positive note, it put me off buying a much more expensive Hamilton 😊. I look forward to your review.

Love them. I can't fathom wanting an automatic in the field when you need accuracy and less breakable parts. Most of the classics are akin to desk divers. 😂

Good luck with this one, I had one and it got scratched by looking at it. I have loud quartz watches but nothing like this thing, I don't see the loud noise as a good quality indicator. Cheap sub 10 USD aliexpress watches are super silent compared to this. The Indiglo is pretty cool until stops working.

Oh yes, I'm very familiar with the loud ticking from my Timex, I've always liked it honestly, gives it some character. I often forget that I even have it actually, because I use it as my nightstand clock pretty much, the indiglo feature is pretty handy for that, maybe I'll give it another wear again!

Nice watch. I have an Expedition Scout (one of two Timex in my collection) as part of my collection and it still has a place despite owning a Boldr Venture Carbon Titanium, SNK809, Lorus Lumibrite, Vostok Komandirski and a Hamilton Khaki King (although I wouldn't really consider the Hamilton a tough field watch - I wear it more as a dress watch).

I was wanting to get back into wearing a watch recently and tried one of these. The ticking didn't bother me at all, but the strap was a little scratchy and the case is way too big and heavy, due to the brass. Crown was digging into my hand All the time and lighting up. All other nice looking field watches are in the hundreds, though. Oh well. Wish they had more options for a smaller size.

To me it looks no better than any number of cheap field watches that you can pick up for $20 but with one exception, most of them have second hands that manage to hit the second markers on the dial.
