I have one of these, also a non-GMT variant. It's hard to argue that both the Q Timex and the Q Timex GMT are anything but marvellously styled and fun. Both of mine stay accurate to within a handful of seconds over the course of a month, which I think is good even for a quartz movement. Perhaps I was lucky there? A drawback with the GMT variant is that it is difficult to set the GMT hand correctly - there is "drift" in it so that once I have set it for my favourite foreign time zone, after an hour it becomes apparent that the GMT hand has "lagged" behind, so I have to reset it. It's necessary to pre-empt this lag and then wait an hour or two to see if I guessed right. That is a defect of a critical function of the watch, although workable. But what no KZbin review I have seen mentions is the problem with the time setting. After I have carefully set the minute hand, when I push the crown back in, it is almost guaranteed to jump forward or back by up to 2 minutes. It's very twitchy and I have yet to figure out a consistent work-around. This defect defeats the object of the hacking feature: What is the point of having synchronised seconds if your minutes are wrong? It drives me batty

I wear it instead of the real one my grandpa left me and it’s great. Surprisingly it has a nice heft to it and is comfortable as well. I put a jubilee bracelet on it and nobody even really knows the difference.

It’s only slightly lighter than the real vintage one which I really liked.

I can’t seem to set the GMT hand properly. Ex: I want to set the local time to 12:30 pm and the GMT hand 2 hours ahead from the local time so 2:30 pm. But when I place the GMT hand to 2:30 pm it won’t stay 2 hours ahead from the local time. It’ll be way off. I don’t know if I’m making sense. I’m probably missing a step idk

The GMT hand time reading follows the bezel (e.g., 2, 4, ... 22, 24) and it goes around one circle in 24 hours. The local hand goes around the dial once every 12 hours. So the local hand moves at twice the speed vs. the GMT hand. That's why their relative position (distance from each other) won't stay contant from each other.

Mine has a "drift" when I set it so that it lags, which is evident after an hour or so. You have to pre-empt this lag when you set it. It's a crap defect.

GMT function: does it work really or no?

The GMT function of course works. But since this is a so-called office GMT, there is no quick adjustment for the local hour hand so it is inconvenient for frequent travelers.
