Thanks very much for that overview! I have found an added level of complexity is introduced when the organization that you are working with subsequently wants to report or visualize data (in PowerBI) in a specific timezone, which may indeed be different from how they want their geographically dispersed users to see or interact with the dates. EX. I have a date field on a PowerApp that captures when an event took place (user local). The reporting requirement is then to only show that date and time in say EST. This presents a frustrating requirement because this then means you have to convert the date/time value (user local) or the related date/time value (always saved in GMT) for every date you want to report on.
