I’ve discovered an extremely effective sleep remedy. I listen to a podcast! Within minutes I fall asleep. If I wake during the night, the same remedy works like magic. I think it works so effectively is that paying attention to the podcast turns off my busy mind. If I don’t turn on a podcast, my thoughts turn to all the things I have to do, all the things that frustrate me, etc etc. and I don’t fall asleep! Podcasts are free and they work like magic for me.

I've learned from firsthand experience that one of the single worst things for sleep is vitamin B6 over RDA levels. I learned this the hard way by taking multi-vitamins. And over 6 yrs slowly developed the worst sleep of my life. Extreme insomnia. Complete lack of REM sleep. Many other health issues. I learned that vitamin B6 acts as a direct nerve & neurotoxin. It's half life is 34 days. So it slowly accumulates and can accumulate even from high B6 foods. As levels slowly rise over years or decades... this surplus is stored in muscles & nerves. As you can't sweat it out. And you can't pee it out quick enough if you're eating over RDA. It's the nature of the half life. Long story short since going on a low B6 diet after 9 months now I'm sleeping better than I have in 10 yrs. No amount of melatonin or magnesium or anything came close to what a low B6 diet did for my sleep.

“Priming” my brain with pre sleep meditation sessions invariably results speeding up sleep onset, fewer waking interruptions & perceived restfulness. Also noted are higher instances of lucid dreaming. No idea why this is so consistent, but it’s noticeable to the point where it’s now habitual to meditate before & after sleeping

How about midnight-shift workers, how about body position? How about CHANTINGor singing before sleep? You can open a window by your head. Is 9:00 pm or 10:00 or 12:00 or is it personal? Dr. Walker's book has been mentioned by many to me, and it is on my list to read. My question: has he (or others) done research looking at the prevalence of many of the health issues that have been linked to sleep deprivation to genetic variants linked to being a "deep sleeper"? Are they protected? No one in my family (and my dad and my maternal grand-parents lived into their 90's) showed any signs of cognitive decline - they were sharp until the end. The 23andMe panel indicates that I have a minor allele in the ADA gene that is associated with being a deep sleeper (and I am! It's the getting up part that is a challenge). It seems about 20% of the population carries this variant, and it would add value to some of these associations if health outcomes like Alzheimer's, obesity, etc be assessed by genetic epidemiology (if they haven't been done already). The data has already been collected by direct to consumer genetic testing companies like 23andMe.

Hi Catherine. I watched an unrelated podcast which was sponsored by Oura, who sells the Oura ring, for sleep tracking. An Oura ring is something you wear on your finger, and it gives you a sleep score (with detailed info) when you wake/get up. I don’t have one, but one of the two podcast hosts said he did some tests and found that when he sleeps with an eye mask and ear plugs, his sleep score is definitely higher (meaning he had a better quality sleep), so he wears those now. Maybe look into that.

When everyone behind you is waiting but your calf muscles siezed up right as you stepped onto the bus, or when you smile and your face muscles lock up that way. Trazodone doesnt create tolerance problems??? Uhmmm,... I was tolerant and my doctor put me at max dose within 2 weeks of use! I am totally resistant to it and when it did work initially it made me feel like a complete zombie the next day. Trazodone is not for everybody!

Do nada mano tá tão desesperado pra que o Brasil seja notado, seja um professor de inglês, estará intercionalizando a cultura brasileira através do inglês, escrever Brazil aleatoriamente não vai funcionar

When he started talking about goats and it narcolepsy I was like 🤨🤨🤨🤨🤨🤨 LMFAOOO I had narcolepsy and cataplexy since I was 15 years old 😂 I transferred schools during my stage of narcolepsy interrupting my life so I was EXTREMELY angry everyday since I had to transfer schools I had worked my ASS off!😤 to make it to my varsity 🏈 team. Finally was respected by the team and coach had my jersey, BOy I had the world in my hands at 15 years old just to transfer to a racist school where literally I was like maybe 7 of the black people in the high school I KID YOU NOT! So I was falling asleep in class and immediately being labeled a druggie and lazy the new black kid with the bad attitude is a druggie .. go figure 😂 but let’s fast forward to me having to use the walls of the school to literally just walk and keep myself up ⬆️ and not collapsing on the floor in front of a bunch of strangers. I was EXTREMELY nervous and had major anxiety and insecure of course as a teenager. I had multiple times where I fell out in class it was SO EMBARRASSING. Imagine being the only colored person in the class that’s a brand new student that keeps falling asleep in class so it’s coming off as I’m a bad person and then BOOM I collapse on the floor 😫 I wanted to die 😞🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️ I even remember these kids talking shit about me thinking that I was asleep 😴 meanwhile I’m just paralyzed like a mf and getting angrier and angrier and not even able to defend myself because of good ole cataplexy 😂😞. Thank god for Adrenaline I was able to somehow play football 🏈 and I was switching in and out with the senior starter my first year there :) and I was on adderall at the time. Anyways I’m 27 now on modafinil and it’s ok…. Wouldn’t wish narcolepsy cataplexy on my worst enemy because I am one witty mf 😂 and it’s legit torture I mean TORTURE not being able to defend yourself under verbal attacks meanwhile your looking like you’re having a seizure 😂

i saw was my mom rocking every evening after she ran from abusive husband., of course i knew somewhere inside my soul something bad was connected to it and not just leaving my dad. years later she said she was moledsted. i also shook my leg off yje siode of the bad to calm me down or relax me. i was not molested but had my share of older men trying..i know theres someyhing to this n have many ideas on it but im running late. it doesnt require anything but usung method while thinking about what happened or something like that. must come from within. om a dance teacher so what do i know mom passed two years now from cancer n think state of mind was biy of factor n like ur channel. has turned my daughter in a bad state n believe it causes her violent temper tantrums, shes got 2 yr old to take care of and im nervous. any advice? i literally cannot see while writing so excuse my grammar n hope u can onderstand what writing. thx
