Dissociation plagues my life and I don't know what to do about it.

Hi thank you Dr Krystal and Tim , I am going to speak with the head of a psychology practice tomorrow about ketamine treatment. I am in my 50’s and have major depressive disorder. I have tried every prescription available since I’ve been in my 20’s. I have never seen an improvement with any of them and the only thing I have felt from them speaking of SSRI’s and Others that increase serotonin, dopamine, ect have been negative side effects, such as nausea, shaking, twitching, weight gain, ect. You name it, I’ve tried it, along with clonepin for panic attacks. I don’t drink , smoke , I’m not an addict but I can not remember anything from my childhood and into my adulthood all I remember is being sad or distant to the world and other people or different. The only happy moment I can remember is seeing my daughter’s face when she was born. No one parents, teachers, doctors have ever noticed this yet tried to get me into treatment. I’m assuming it was due to my good grades and ability to blend in. I also have no other extreme emotions such as anger or any cluster B disorders. I am hoping for some help with this Doctor tomorrow. Would either of you have any suggestions as to how I can clearly communicate how I feel to him and obtain some sort of help so I can better improve the rest of my life in a positive way? Thank You Kindly, Joy, from Pa.

Have you looked into taking Niacin AKA vitamin B3, it helped a depressed friend of mine

That’s a good idea I never heard of taking Niacin but Dr Murad definitely recommends vitamin A. C. E for your skincare routine internally for youthful skin and that really does work for better skin, and a sense of well-being, thank you

Hi Joy. I would recommend finding a coach or therapist who works with IFS. (Internal Family Systems) Your healing lives inside of your subconscious mind and inside your body. IFS can help you access what needs to be healed inside of you in order for you to unblock your life energies and live the life you deserve. When we are depressed, our life energies are blocked inside our bodies, hence our emotions and energy gets "depressed" inside the mind and body. I have seen many people heal from the exact predicament you are currently experiencing. You can do it. Be strong and be well.

Joy you should definitely consult with someone about Ketamine. Mental health pros are generally good at interviewing new patients, and they will gently inquire about a lot of different aspects of your life and your inner world.

I wonder what's his view on dissociation vs detachment? Is there a point where these two intersect?

I get severely dissociated when I am around hostile and abusive people and hostile environments . It makes my life unmanageable because I am constantly dissociating 24/7 , I am moving in and out of dissociation & flashbacks . I lived 4 decades like this - so my whole life . How do I fix this without drugs ?

It's a horse tranquilizer, also known on the street as Special K. Take with extreme caution, and under supervision of someone you TRUST!

It is also an human anesthetic, but usually not the first line of choice.

@@priapulida Yes, every kind of drug has it's use in the right circumstance and the right dosage. Weed/Cannabis was known as a party/gateway drug and now I use it for medicine for my chronic pain. Oh and a side note people, if you get stuff off the street it is almost ALWAYS cut with stuff you probably don't want. Be safe, and be healthy people!

@@TheHumanRanger _"It's a horse tranquilizer,..."_ - It's true, but certainly misleading (annoyingly so) to just say it's a horse tranquilizer as it's also a human (and other animal) tranquilizer

Wow you are annoyed I tried to help someone, maybe YOU need some tranquilizer lol
