Timing a New Holland 283 Square Baler

The secondary shaft that drives the gearbox for the feeder assembly had a catastrophic failure, causing the baler to get knocked out of time and a collision between the plunger and feeder fingers. After 3 days of rebuilding, it needs to be re-timed. I couldn't find any information about this particular model out there, so a friend and I figured it out on our own and then made this video to help others with this great old baler. Thank you!! My 326 busted it's feeder drive chain and i couldn't figure out what to look for to get everything back in time. My timing points were slightly different than yours, but you got me on the right track. Now, hopefully I can get back and finish baling!

With rust on the chain it looks like it lived outside over the winter. Oiling the chain and then covering the knotter over the winter and not leaving two bales inside will help it bale all summer without a hitch, but if the chains are not oiled greased or lubricated every roller chain will break and or wear out the sprockets.

Just 1 confusing question i am facing when do you trip the arm for the knotters and needles.

Where does the twine finger return spring connect on both ends? I bought a NH 276 hayliner and it didn't come with the spring.
