Built, I see The mission is real, I’m up here in Canada and my get down is somewhat the same. Im currently playing with the cdn version of a 67 Chevelle. It’s called a Beaumont. Also a 68 Camaro and a 83 squarebody. I’m on the boarder of Detroit and a few hours from Toronto. I’m gonna make myself a vacation down there one of these days, Lord willing. 4:57 yes if it’s on TDC compression stroke yes that would be in time according to GM specs Yes you are correct. If your SBC engine is at TDC on the compression stroke but the distributor rotor is pointing to the number 5 spark plug, then your distributor is misaligned and needs to be rotated to align with the correct firing order, Which you stated in the video.. but for non chevy guys wouldn’t know that that was a good thing to show as well . No some Camshaft’s are 5/7 swap in firing order as well .. which this 454 probably don’t have one ..

Watching BOAB on this snowy day here in Western KY with about 4 or 5 inches of snow on the ground and still snowing. HI PERF PASS It just means its a low deck.All 396/402,454 out of a car or pickup truck and car 427's came with those words.If it were a tall deck 366 or 427 out of a big truck{school bus or straight job}it would say TRUCK. HI PERF PASS=low deck Truck=tall deck Loving me some Big Bertha big block coverage and my Built on a Budget fix for the day. I've been with ya since the beginning, Mr Built! If that's a LS6 454, it could be around 450 horsepower and 500 lb-ft of torque.

Hi Perf Passenger really doesn't mean anything on the 454, but I would think it is a 4 bolt block being in a 1 ton. 4 bolt block should also have tapped pipe plug ports near the oil filter for an oil cooler. On the early big blocks the square port heads had HIGH PERF cast into them while oval port heads had PASS. Every iron big block I have owned had the HIGH PERF PASS cast into it.

11:06 pass means it came in a passinger car, hi perf means it was probably in a SS or some sort of other performance package. If I had the numbers on front of the block beside passenger side head and numbers on back I’d tell you what it came out of That means that’s NOT THE ORIGINAL ENGINE THAT CAME I THat truck ! Also A "hi perf" casting on a 454 Chevy block with "big push rods" indicates that it's a high-performance version of the engine, designed to handle larger, longer pushrods which are typically used with high-lift camshafts, allowing for greater valve opening and increased horsepower potential.

Put it in your camper to get warm then it will go on easy and you can use a heat gun to smooth it out , use HVac silver tape the seams… I overlap mine 1/8 to get seam tight

Check to see if on compression stroke. The cam rotates twice for every rotation of the crankshaft. The distributor could look 180 degrees out of not on compression stroke.

Not an expert but I believe "Hi Perf" is a common stamping on 454s. "Pass" means it came out of a passenger car. Now if it is a 4 bolt main, could be more hp. 👍

Don’t touch the distributor you just messed up when both timing dots are at 12o’clock you are TDC and the rotor will be at #1 terminal on your cap

C is where it was assembled C = GM Division code for Chevrolet Truck (GMC would use a T and Chevy car would us a 1, Pontiac would be 2 and so on) 7 -Assembly plant code, check it might be Z for Fremont Assembly Plant (San Francisco area) 3 - Model year 1973 of the Chevrolet Truck 319649- matches the last 6 digits of the trucks VIN, or the 19,649 Chevy truck coming off the line at Fremont. The 454 engine was commonly used in cars like the Chevelle, Caprice, Monte Carlo, and Corvette during its production years. This is just an example!!!!!! I need you’re numbers and I can tell you
