Just bought my first s2000 2 days ago and I need to do quiet a bit of maintenance work on it. Gotta say all your videos are gold! I already used some of them to fix some of the issues it was having. Subbed!

What's the thread pattern for the 50mm bolt to retract the tentioner?

Thanks! I assume same applies to Billman’s TCT also when it leaks?
@DIYGuysvideo5 жыл бұрын
Yes, since he uses a modified OEM TCT.

What kind of bolt you used to insert to retract the pistons? I can't find anything long enough or the same thread pattern
@DIYGuysvideo3 жыл бұрын
I believe I put the specifics of the bolt in the video description.

So happy to have found this channel and it's still active! It's a big job, but would love to see a replacement of the secondary transmission output shaft bearings which can be done with the trans still in the car. Will probably have to do this myself at some point in the future (I think I'm getting some speed dependent whirring from the trans but not too sure). Thanks for the effort you're putting into these videos.
@DIYGuysvideo5 жыл бұрын
Good suggestion. Will definitely do it if the issue happens to me. I’ve seen it happen to a couple people.
@adamrolt61575 жыл бұрын
@@DIYGuysvideo Yes I believe it is quite common (relative to the reliability of the car). Also, as far as I can find, no-one has done a video guide showing splitting the trans and replacing these parts.

Just wondering those three o-ring seals being changed, so it will stop leaking for 150kms like last time u said

I would assume so yeah.

Just did the vtec solenoids gaskets and the TCT. Before as soon as I would start the car drops of oil would spill. Now it still leaks from the tct 😞 but not enough to even form one drop. It’s very minimal, what would you suggest?

have a horrible coolant leak coming from under my intake manifold. is there a hose down there/is that the one people block off? or maybe it's the gasket itself? video ideaaa
@DIYGuysvideo5 жыл бұрын
Have you messed with the intake manifold? I had to replace mine after a swap but I didn’t film it since it was my first time doing it.

@@DIYGuysvideo haven't touched it in the 4 years I've had the car 🤔

What are some signs that these TCT gaskets are leaking? Are they visible when looking from above?
@DIYGuysvideo5 жыл бұрын
For me I was able to see oil on my TCT as well as oil dripping onto the oil cooler hoses. You also might see some oil on the ground when you park. It’s definitely harder to spot than other oil leaks tho.
@extremericer33716 ай бұрын
So I don’t need to stick the bolt in to the tct for removal? Because the manual says to lock it?
@DIYGuysvideo6 ай бұрын
That would be the absolute safest way under all conditions but practically speaking you don’t need to.
@extremericer33716 ай бұрын
Thank you for the fast response. Haha will carry on now

is there any reason I couldn't mount the TCT up, insert the pin (paperclip in my case) through the inspection hole, remove the nut, reinstall oil bolt/cover, then pull the clip? I'm terrified I'm going to drop the paperclip into the abyss
@DIYGuysvideo4 жыл бұрын
I wouldn't insert anything through the inspection hole, not worth the risk.

@@DIYGuysvideo thanks for the quick response. ill just not be lazy and find a cotter pin

So the cotter pin, you just leave it? Doesn’t have to be removed?
@DIYGuysvideo5 жыл бұрын
It is removed during installation which is covered in another video.

DIYGuys thank you! Also do you have a link for the triangular gasket that goes on top? Just came from the dealer and they don’t sell that one separately just the 2 o rings.

Hi, this video is very good but I have a question, where is the risk of this operation?...
@DIYGuysvideo4 жыл бұрын
What do you mean the risk of the operation?
@leonardo6191004 жыл бұрын
@@DIYGuysvideo I mean the risk of damaging engine parts
@DIYGuysvideo4 жыл бұрын
@@leonardo619100 There isn't much risk in damaging the engine unless you have an oil leak or something. Otherwise its a pretty simple piston that puts pressure on the timing chain.
