No one said that you have to embrace the Ethiopian ORthodox faith, but all we ask is to be respected just as you want to be respected yourself!

@RuledTheWorld you don't know what you're talking about. Ethiopians are African. Africa is the most diverse continent on Earth...Ethiopians are its oldest people. Everyone else, including Arabs and Italians (Romans) came from them, not vice versa...read a book.

Ethiopia was one of the first place that the apostles of jesus went to spread the word of god...that was over 2,000 years ago. Even when european powers began a race for land in africa---they left Ethiopia alone because they recognized it as a Christian Nation of believers---which blows my mind considering their next to saudia Arabia..which is Islamic

They didn't left ethiopia because of Christianity but ethiopian defend themselves don't abuse history please learn if you don't know history
They never left Ethiopia alone, they tried to colonize Ethiopia but they failed. Search up the Battle of Adwa. They tried twice to colonize Ethiopia but they failed! That’s is why Ethiopia is the only country in Africa to never be colonized.

Without resorting to childish name calling; which I'm sure some other people will do. I watch things like this because it expands my frame of reference, and it's entertaining. Even though the rituals seem primitive and mean nothing to me about my life, it's still interesting to know about them.

That entirely depends on the time/age and your surroundings can, believe it or not, affect that same time/age. He lives in the kind of place, where time/age has hibernated in a sense. The education needed in more modern areas would be useless to him, unless he relocated. Likewise, his education would be useless to people in modern areas.

No, the documentary did not cover what they learn specifically. Ethiopian Orthodox theology is so broad. If he continues learning he will be able to learn what is thought in modern schools as well but more in theology form. Most of this kids end up been scholars and their knowledge is beyond yours and my imagination. What we see is their poor lifestyle. To them they are richer than most of the westerns. Just to give you an idea, the teaching covers astronomy, physiology, medicin, botanical science etc. I have been blown away by their knowledge. I can be a witness.

Do you have reasons as to why there is no God? If not, then be quiet. Making statements without backing them up is not a wise thing to do.

well hinduism was started before christianity, so chr. came after. both are pagan faiths. hindus think every thing is good. and christians thing three 3 gods. then they say no those three are one. hard to beleive that people beleive in that.

You can't understand the nature of God with limited knowledge .if an ant is so complicated then how couldn't God be complicated.
