You two are such a great team and the quality of your work is impeccable! Glad I found you on line a couple years ago and I can’t wait to own one of your vans. Retirement is looking better every day! Thank you!

Just a small comment from my own personal experience as a trim carpenter. Have had issues with that brand of fast dry caulking before, so stopped using it. The non-fast dry version of that brand has been good to me; also Sherwin-Williams sells a fast dry I have not had any issues with. Great job, love the videos. Hoping to start a build in about 6 months so doing tons and tons of research.

Great video guys! I can't wait for more! As a cabinet builder, I love to see how others do their builds and have them look so great. How is the paint holding up to chipping or water?
@TimKatie Жыл бұрын
Thank you! Hopefully you didn’t have too many critiques as a real pro ;) The paint has held up great so far on our last couple vans (oldest being >2 yrs on the road now)

@@TimKatie glue and pocket screws are amazingly strong and I use them whenever appropriate. I find the door lift shocks a bit tricky, so kudos for making it look easy. With one shock done to satisfaction, clamp the second open door to the first to hold them equal.

How are they holding up? Seems like hanging them with just wood screws would be prone to loosening up over time with vibration. I'm thinking about using toggle bolts.

When attaching these to the ceiling furring strips, how are you handling the 1/4” height difference from where the pine t&g and cabinets over lap? Doesn’t that create a gap between the cabinet top and furring?

How did you squire cabinets to the van? Did you squire it to the floor of the van? Or did you just eyeball it?

Are you using the brand named screws or did you find a more generic/cost effective version?
@TimKatie Жыл бұрын
We just stick with the brand name Kreg pocket hole screws 👍🏻

What's the thickness of the wood you used? Is it lower than 1/2 plywood? It seems thin

We use 1/2” Baltic birch for the carcass and 5/8” Baltic birch for the doors
