Heading to Isolated Medellin Hood!🇨🇴

Since I was already drunk and happy from my crazy day in the center of Medellin, I decided to accept my friend's offer and follow him up to his hood (Barrio de Paris) which was far away from the center. We needed to take a long bus ride and go to the top of the mountain.
This was my first time visiting a real Medellin Hood and I can tell you that I'm really surprised by the vibe there and especially some stories I've heard about "Mr Pablo"!!

I live in Medellin and the reason is no matter how dangerous the barrio you’ll always find very nice people around. Yet, go to the south side of Chicago at night, filming. Hahaha you will not last or meet anyone that will help you. That’s why Medellin is a treasure.

I did the same thing that you're doing in 2003, traveling alone, but I went without a GoPro and selfie stick. I had several contacts pre-arranged before I went, ended up returning to Cali/Medellín, 3 more times, I had great times. You refer to US citizens as gringos, but I think that the definition is, "Anyone that doesn't speak Spanish." I found out to not call myself an "Americano", the correct term is "Estados Unidense." Some there are offended, because they say that they are Americanos too. Maybe you could incorporate more attractions, like the ride on the sky-lift, and the Botero Museum. You are a " Papaya " alone in any area without police, the GoPro on a selfie stick could motivate a mugging. You might notice that nobody but yourself walks around high crime areas with rare, expensive electronic devices, or jewelry.
