My first trip to Asia was to Bangkok and Phuket. Since then we have been there at least 19 times. On our last day of our vacation, we went to an Italian restaurant…yes Italian. The waitress was probably no older than 16. She skipped to our table. Both food and service was fantastic. The cost of the meal for 2 was about 12USD. I gave her the equivalent of $20 USD. When she came back with the change I motioned for her to keep the change. I spoke very little Thai and she spoke no English. A beautiful smile adorned her face. She put the money in her pouch, placed her hands together, tilted and bowed her head. She took two steps back and repeated the gesture. Honestly, while the sights and tastes of Thailand were more than enough to bring us back, it was that young girls gesture of kindness and thanks that sealed our desire to return. Sadly we never got her name and I can’t remember the restaurant name. I often wonder what became of her and wish her much health, wealth and happiness

As a Thai spending most of my years in Bangkok I would say your video super informative and helpful especially for the first timer. My little suggestion is maybe you can split your days staying in the hotel both in Old town and in the CBD (Silom/Sukhumvit) for example 1N in OT and 2Ns in CBD or 2 nights each for 4 days trip. And consider Ratchathewi district where Phaya Thai BTS station is located. You can stay at the hotel near Phaya Thai or few BTS stations away from Phaya Thai so it’s connected to the Airport Rail Link you can go back to the airport within 1 hr. The area is relatively less touristy, less scam and easily to transport via BTS green line. Also you can explore Ari district where there are so many good cafes and restaurants and not far from Chatuchak weekend market (Soi Ari at Phahon Yothin road not Ari on Sukhumvit road). There’re lots of things to do and foods to try in Bangkok so you can even spend a week there! Welcome to Bangkok and Thailand guys 😊🇹🇭❤️

International flights can use both SAT-1 and main concourse at BKK, not just SAT-1, plus, DMK has international arrivals too. As a Thai, this is the best video I've found about Bangkok so far, so informative and covers tourists every need!
@TimTravelTasteАй бұрын
DMK is completely irrelevant for my english speaking audience. 99% of the connections are in asia. No one from europe/africa/north america, south america, arab nations and so on will ever arrive there. They arrive at BKK. That’s why they built the new terminal. And that’s why DMK is Bangkok’s mainly domestic airport.
@tg916.th.21Ай бұрын
@@TimTravelTaste Flights from Europe actually do arrive into DMK now, as well as Australian flights, with Thai AirAsia. By the start of 2025, more flights from Europe will be arriving/departing from DMK with RC Airlines. Charter flights from the USA, and Africa also land at DMK. The new terminal is actually mainly for Chinese, Japanese, and Korean flights, with the exception of 2 European routes operated by Thai Airways (Oslo and Copenhagen- and these often use the main concourse anyway).
@tg916.th.21Ай бұрын

3:25 - All most all foreigners are not aware of this, but you also have the option of using your 'VISA' or 'Mastercard' as payment for any lines of the MRT system. No need for cash, nor to get in line for the token (ticket). Just make sure your card supports EMV (contactless payment) and tap it on the reader at the top of your right-side turnstile gate (look for the EMV symbol) on your way into and out of the system. Please note that some stations (ex. on the Pink Line) may only have 1 EMV reader placed next to the ticket office, not on the turnstiles. However, EMV contactless payment is not available in the BTS Sky Train System. You need to buy a ticket per trip from the machine, or get a stored-value card (Rabbit) from the ticket office, which you can pay with your credit card. Even the city-operated buses (not the private-run ones) in Bangkok accept credit card payment on board. It's OK to just ask the bus conductor first if you can pay the fare with your credit card.
