One thing - you not have been aware - it is not safe to swim on Timor’s south and east coasts. That is where most of the crocodile attacks occur. There’s no one else on the beach at Tutuala because the locals know it’s not safe. Even on Jaco you can get crocs. Normally west of Dili is okay for crocs, but in November 2017 two children were taken on successive days just 12kms west of Dili. However there are no crocs at all on Atauro - there are no natural water ways or mangroves on the island. I think that’s why Atauro is crocodileless.
