It was great to see the lovely Ascensores from Valparaiso in your video. Brings me good memories from my trip to Chile 12 years ago. There are proudly an icon for the Chilean history, despite some of them were taken out of service due to "repairs" that never came. Muchas gracias Tim!

The Lookout Mountain Incline Railway near Chattanooga, TN is similar to Mount Koya. While it is primarily a tourist railway, I believe that the locals use it as well.

Valparaíso Lifts (or ascensores) are beautiful and explain with accuracy the city history. Now, there are 3 in revamping works (Monjas, Concepción and Villaseca), but a mix of issues related to Covid - 19 and bureaucracy slowed the pace of this works. With the Valparaíso Metro card, we can pay the Ascensor in Valpo.

I managed to sail on what was marked #5 on the list as well as the famous Skytrain approximately a few days before we were to board the Disney Wonder on a magical cruise to the "gateway to the Klondike" known as Alaska and I believely knew that once we returned to Vancouver and were heading to the Canada Line to catch 1 of 2 Delta flights at YVR ; after what I told Mickey Mouse about the Skytrain, He did manage to ride the whole Skytrain system for that magic credit before reboarding the Wonder fot the next cruise!

Of the cities in the U.S., San Francisco easily rates no. 1 in variety: commuter rail (Caltrain), rapid transit (BART), light rail (MUNI Metro) and of course the cable cars. Plus, there is one MUNI Metro line that uses vintage equipment. Boston and Philadelphia have a variety of rail services as well.

The San Francisco cable cars, on the other hand, are most certainly unique, because, as you said, they are the last cable cars left that aren't people movers! I love your two videos, I have travelled on some of these unique transit systems, including Christchurch, Hong Kong, San Francisco and Lisbon. One not so well known is the 'Minimetro' in Perugia Italy, it's truly unique, the city also has some great escalators. Very interesting. But you forgot the the Harzer Schmalspurbahn - a narrow gauge steam train railway network in Thuringia, Germany, the elevated Schwebebahn of Wuppertal and a similar one on a hill in Dresden, or the wonderful Rhaetische Bahn in Switzerland through the Alps. There are also cable funiculars in Heidelberg and Karlsruhe, as well as a very unique cog tramway in Stuttgart, all in southwest Germany. Near Berlin, there's the Woltersdorfer Straßenbahn, which is a regular tramway with old trains from the fifties, and there's a row ferry in Berlin. Ah, and the Ventottos (28ers) in Milan, regular trams from 1928 on several lines. Or the trams of Rome which cross under a viaduct from the antique. What about the doubledecker trams of Hongkong? So many more ....

Many systems were ignored: the “Funi” in Freiburg is, for example: the last preserved water ballast funicular, Wuppertal, ... Unfortunately, the smallest tram company in the world, the Gmundner tram, is now a part of the local railway to Vorchdorf, which is in the past Pöstlingbergbahn, which existed until 2008 and was the only adhesive railway to use wedge-head rails, and with a steep incline of 116 ‰, it is now part of the Linz tram ... But there are numerous other interesting railways: Metro Moscow (architecture) Vienna with one of the best public transport systems and the Wagner building, ... I think that generally a reassessment has to be made ...

This is too often the same thing, too many rail based cable cars in this list. La Paz has a huge network of hanging cable cars, that's more unique. Each city on the waterfront, has a bus-like ferry boat in operation, starting with Venice in first place. Hamburg, Copenhagen, Stockholm, it's quiet common. There are no magnetic or air cussion trains in this list. On Faroe Islands, they have an helicopter operating as a bus.

I don't see how #2 is 'unique' at all, we have those everywhere in Germany / Europe. On a more general note: sorry to say it but the selection in this video seems limited, there were too many funiculars. This is why I prefer your other ("part 1") video. Having said that, your videos are still well made - I am criticizing it on a high level :)

Half of these aren't unique! Lisbon also has old style 'Streetcars' . While funicular railways are more common than you think. The UK had at least half a dozen - Lynton/Lynmouth, Saltburn-by-the-sea, Bridgnorth to name three. Can't believe you didn't include Wuppertal's famous 'hanging railway'. If you want 'unique' then look no further than Wuppertal.
