RETURN TO NEVER LAND MOVIE REACTION! Today I'll be watching a film I have never seen before Return to Never Land released in 2002 for the first time. Here's my Return to Never Land Peter Pan sequel reaction. Want to watch the ENTIRE Movie with me? Check out: / timotheereacts
Wendy is all grown up, with children of her own, and as the blitzkrieg rages, she calms them with tales of Peter Pan. Wendy's stubborn 12-year-old daughter, Jane, has no patience for such nonsense until Capt. Hook uses the girl as a pawn in capturing his arch-rival. Peter Pan, Tinker Bell, and the Lost Boys come to her aid; however, even they cannot make Jane a believer in the magic of imagination. Unless she believes, she cannot fly, and there is no other way for her to return home.

For a Disney sequel, Return to Neverland isn’t so bad imo. It has the same charm as the first film with less controversial elements and is overall a fun watch, the way I see it.

It is also loosely based on J.M. Barrie's mini-play which Barrie wrote as a sequel to Peter and Wendy and where Peter accidentally kidnaps Jane when he thinks she is her mother Wendy. The difference is, however, that unlike Barrie's sequel, in this Disney version, Hooka and Tinkerbell are still alive. But Disney's version is still better than Barrie's own sequel, even though the first film is nowhere near as good as Barrie's original stage play and its novelization. The sad thing about this Return to Newerland movie is that they cut out Hook's villain song which would have been a real banger and an ear worm.

Overall, this movie is pretty good. The wartime opening was really impactful, Hook and Tinkerbell are still endless sources of entertainment, and Jane has a great arc of learning to use her imagination and be a kid again.

The messed up thing is, yes, they did have to send their kids away during the war. Some parents never saw their children again, while some children didn't have parents to come home to. It was horrible. On a lighter note, the animation in this is absolutely amazing and actually had a larger budget than most of the Disney animated sequels at the time. It was even released in theaters. They also did a great job getting actors who sounded like the original Hook, Smee and Peter.

Peter and Wendy’s reunion was the best part of this movie for me, especially with how well the film handles the dialogue. It’s not over dramatic, and so many things are said with very limited words. All the words that needed to be said were nailed!! I always felt like Peter was in love with Wendy (or had some form of affection for her, cause he might not understand the concept of love), but was too childish to pursue and enjoyed causing trouble and being a kid more than anything else. When he sees Wendy as an adult, he realizes that any chance he had with her is gone forever and on top of that he believes she is no longer that girl he knew years ago. “You’ve changed.” wasn’t about her physical appearance, but more of “you’re no longer the Wendy I knew.” But Wendy insists she still has those parts of her left in her. That moment she has with Tinkerbell, I think was meant to make Peter more accepting of how things turned out. He handled it more maturely than you’d expect from him, but I think because he sees she will always believe in and care about him and still has the spirit he grew fond of (and most likely fell in love with) he’s willing to have this moment end where they’re still on good terms

I really admire the sequel because I remember watching it more than the first one growing up and I really liked Jane because I always felt she was a strong independent child but I guess she had to be considering the time she was living in but I’m glad she got more character development through out the movie like she learned from Peter like how to have fun and be a kid basically. I also love Peter and Tinkerbell got to see Wendy again such cute reunion ❤️❤️❤️ and Jane’s Father gets back from the war a great ending 😊😊😊thanks for taking me back through memory lane Tim and can’t wait for the next video 😄😉😁😁

9:25: The effect emulates an old kaleidoscope. It's a toy where some coloured glitter is in a tube between two mirrors at an angle, and when you watch through the tube it forms a lot of symmetrical patterns that change as you shake it. Those computer music players were clearly inspired by the same toy.

Before this, Hook was my first exposure to the Peter Pan story and of course the 2003 live action remake which is spectacular. The music here is good, Jane's arc is also an interesting one. I enjoy the movie because they touch on other elements in the actual Peter Pan Story. For example, with Tinkerbell's death, Peter Pan explains to Wendy in the book that when a child says that they don't believe in fairies, "there is a fairy somewhere that falls down dead." Also, it was set around 30 years after the first movie. If it was 50, Wendy would be much, much older. In all fairness, I do enjoy your videos. They're amazing! If you're taking suggestions, can you please react to The Adventures of Tintin?

30:21, this part is a reference to the book Peter Pan and Wendy (based on the original play and written by the same author) in which Peter returns for Wendy to take her back to Neverland only to discover that she’s grown up and instead takes her daughter Jane who later returns to the normal world grows up and has her own daughter who is visited by Peter Pan and taken to Neverland at some point with J.M. Barrie (the author) saying that that pattern would continue as long as children remained young, innocent and care free.

Between this movie; Bedknobs and Broomsticks, and The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe, all tell of when England sent their children away. Many went to relatives (like in L,W, & W); where others went out into the countryside, to small towns who have people who could take them in (such as B&B). It was a dark time in England's history; when the Germans' bombed London back in WWII

@@a.g.demada5263 Well saying/writing that some one age is in their 40's or 50's could put them in all between from 40 to 59. All I did was to find out what the year the movie could take place in and what was Wendy's age when she first met Peter, and the official story put her age at between 12-13 years old, so I used that information to kinda get her exact age in Return to Neverland.

I’ve always loved all movie and book interpretations of Hook. When you consider Peter chopped off his hand, fed it to a massive croc that now wants to eat him, Peter and the boys constantly harass him and anything that sounds similar to a clock horrifies him, Hook being a villain is more of a gray area. Any person in that position would be just like Hook.

24:51, that’s right. It’s homaging a scene in the 1904 play when Captain Hook poisoned Tinker Bell and she then told Peter she could only get better if children started believing in fairies again so Peter tells the audience “if you believe in fairies clap your hands” and the audience claps their hands and Tinker Bell heals.

18:51, that’s a big deal since in the original 1904 play Peter Pan: The Boy Who Would Never Grow Up, Peter tells Wendy that whenever a child says “I don’t believe in fairies” a fairy dies.

Yes! I've been waiting for this reaction since you did Peter Pan. I know you already did it on your Patreon, but I am a broke college student so.......yeah. Honestly, worth the wait though!

Yes, they did evacuate children to the countryside during the war, lots of really sad stories, also lots of pets like were lost and never found their original owners again.

I had a film i wanted to recommend. it's not Disney but it is a beautiful animation film. It's called The Last Unicorn. it's one of those films after watching it will remain with you forever. it had a cult following for a long time and i heard a live action has been thought about but uncertain at the moment.

Tbh, they should have added a tribute to Bobby Driscoll. 💙💚✝️

While I don't disagree, one could view the whole film as a tribute to Bobby Driscoll, since Bobby was not only the voice actor but also the character model for Disney's Peter Pan in 1953, and the same character design is utilized here.

However everyone feels about this film, the ending was wholesome yet sad, eventually Wendy will pass while Peter stays young. Reminds a bit of Jack Frost from Rise of the Guardians.

Honestly the stigma of the Disney DirecTV sequence has been unneeded some more turbo there's no doubt about it Hunchback 2 Pocahontas 2 Cinderella 2 but there were some movies that were good sequels like Lion King 2 this one and even The Little Mermaid 2 it's all in perspective and how it respects and honors and continues the story my personal favorite is Lion King 3 and this one which to me has much more emotion and character developments than the original didn't had

These changing images are like those that used to be seen through an old-fashioned toy called a kaleidoscope, which was a tube containing loose bits of colored material like glass or plastic with a multi-sided mirror at both ends that created patterns by reflecting a single "pie slice" of the image (that you were actually seeing directly) to all the other surfaces as you turned the tube.
