I actually appreciate the fact that Elsa became a protagonist for the film because initially, she was gonna be the antagonist of the story. I probably would’ve liked her as a villain we could sympathize with but still, she turned out much better in the direction we have now.

@@Amused_Comfort_Inc anti hero Elsa would’ve been perfect. While I like the current Elsa and the healthy approach Anna took with her but honestly I would’ve liked a *bit* darker approach with Elsa, one where the events of next movie would actually make sense. First movie and short films showed that Elsa is actually really great as queen especially politically while Anna being an extrovert (upon that being isolated like Elsa in her own way) is more of social person who finally wants to have company of people. Second movie could’ve used these traits of Anna to showcase that she could be great as queen socially (something that they use that Elsa didn’t have) and economically. They even cut a scene of Anna actually using sword to save Elsa which further could’ve described that Anna took other sports activities such as fencing which Elsa sadly didn’t take cause she remained in her room all time. Elsa remained in her room all the time and clearly lacks social skills, this along with her discovering in second movie that she’s an element of magic would’ve made sense why she would rather go out to help and discover other people with her magic rather than remain at the same place where she was always stuck. The execution is second movie could’ve been better as to why both the sisters would’ve to part ways. Back to first movie, I think Anna being how young and sensitive she was could’ve took some complex gathering of data instead of suddenly being so understanding of Elsa during the powers reveal scene and straight up putting two to two together that Elsa’s powers are why she’s the way she is when she couldn’t even figure out Hans’ intentions. The moment Elsa froze her heart accidentally could’ve been a cause wrong communication method on both sides. Elsa would still be as sympathetic she is but she’s also be thinking of herself for once instead of Anna which she already did throughout her whole life. Sorry for long rant but I can’t help but go in a “what if” scenario of Frozen and sorry for bad English.

People joke about Frozen being so crazy popular, but I think it can't be overstated how wonderful it is that the act of true love is Anna being willing to sacrifice herself for her sister, instead of a kiss from a man- it makes me so happy that they subverted that fairy tale trope.

This exactly! I feel the same with Maleficent making "true love's kiss" happen between a surrogate mother and daughter, rather than the prince that showed up about 5 minutes ago.

Hans: Don't be the monster they fear you are! Me: Don't be the good guy we thought you was!
@drummergirl23192 жыл бұрын
There were so many signs Hans was bad from the beginning (that I missed in the theater), like when he sang, "I've been searching my whole life to find my own place," he gestured to Arendelle behind him, and he mentioned all the older brothers, and then in the ice castle, after he saw the guard about to shoot Elsa, there's a moment when he looks up at the chandelier and then runs at the guard to push the crossbow up, so he could potentially kill Elsa while looking like he was trying to save her. But I missed that, and I remember being so shocked when Hans betrayed Anna! The whole time I thought it was gonna be like Enchanted. Like, idealistic ginger gets engaged to a prince she just met, then falls in love with a commoner after a few days, and then the prince marries Idina Menzel instead. But nope.

There's another hint I caught at just 7 years old, and I'm proud of it. In love is an open door, they sing "you and I are just meant to be.." Hans says "you", referring to Anna, and Anna says "I", referring to herself. It means that only Anna has genuine feelings here.

In fact, the Love Is an Open Door song had hints about Hans's true nature. At first, he says "You" and Anna catches up: "And I". Doesn't it seem odd? And when they make a hand-heart in front of the moon, Anna begins it and Hans joins a little later. Looks like Anna's the only one who meant what she said... However, Hans was right that love is an open door: when Anna first approaches to Elsa's castle, the doors open by themselves. The castle is an "extension" of Elsa, so it means she is the one who really loves Anna

13:49 ...holy shit, Tim! You literally just caught some serious foreshadowing right there! The lesson at the end was "Fear freezes, love thaws." She loves her sister, therefore talking to her wasn't triggering her powers. But she was still so scared of hiring Anna again, she couldn't see it!
@brandiarmstrong2902 Жыл бұрын
11:27 There's actually a theory floating around that Hans really *did* fall in love with Anna, but the trolls screwed with his mind at the last minute to set her up with Kristoff. First, check his face when the boat capsizes. She's not looking, so it's not pretend. Yep, to quote the muses from Hercules, "check the grin; you're in love!" Next, listen to the lyrics of "Fixer-Upper." "Get the fianceé out of the way and the whole thing will be fixed!" Finally, and let's not forget this: Pabi already messed with Anna's mind, completely erasing any memory of Elsa's magic. So not only *can* he rewrite people's minds, but he's more than willing to do so, even when there are other, less drastic, options. Personally, I'm gonna quote Jafar on this one. "The idea has merit."

No matter what ppl say (who hate the song got played everywhere), this is one of my top disney princess movie. The act of true love really a plot twist. We thought it would be someone else to save anna, a prince, a guy. But it’s her who save herself. Her own act of true love, not to a guy, but to her own sister. This sister love theme really made this movie on the top list for me. And I love they made it balance, it’s not just about Elsa, but about Anna too. They two hold powers with their sister love. Aah I really love this movie especially because I have a sister, and lots of princess movie is always about to be saved by a guy.
@videohistory7222 жыл бұрын
That moment when you realize Olafs speech about love is even MORE foreshadowing to what the act of true love turned put to be. "Putting someone else's needs above your own." = Elsa willingly shutting herself away for years AND running away from Anna at just the fear of hurting her again. Anna chasing after her anyway REFUSING to let Elsa do so, because despite everything, she still loves her. And just as the cherry on top: The speech came from Olaf himself, the literal embodiment of their love.

The film feels like a beefed-up version of Tangled, but it doesn't feel like a typical Disney fairy tale. It's more about the relationship between close people (sisters) and in my opinion Frozen managed to show Elsa's inner change much better than Merida in Brave. Well, the composition "Let it go" only emphasizes this overcoming of one's fears.

Notice when Anna and Olaf are in the hallway, running from the spikes? The spikes *surround* Anna and Olaf, but never actually *harm* them. And Elsa shows she's not quite above it all in her final declaration to the Duke. He comes from Weselton and she knows it; but she still writes Weaseltown, just because she can, just to piss him off one final time. She's the Queen and Arendelle has just watched him work with Hans to kill both members of the Royal Family, so they're not going to oppose her. She's just like Anna, but duty has been in the way.

The reason Hans's lie about Anna being dead stopped Elsa's storm was because her worst fear has come to life. She's killed her sister. That's not fear in her heart in that moment. It's utter despair and grief-stricken heartbreak. Her powers being out of control only happens in moments of fear/anxiety. But she believes she killed her sister. That's not going to trigger the same emotions. There's no reason to be afraid anymore, because to her thinking, it can't get any worse. Anna is dead, frozen to death from a blow she dealt her own sister. For Elsa, there's no more fear, only grief, loss, and pain.

When Olaf said, "Some people are worth melting for" was actually a bit of a foreshadowing of the act of true love that needed to happen. I just now realized it. At first I thought it was the love of sisters, but key word, "Act" of true love. But what gave the twist away for me was Hans and his, "Nice" guy attitude. It sounded so fake 😅, like he was "Extra" about it and not genuine. The song made me go "Hmmm" with the "I've been searching my whole life for a place to call my own", then during the elsa chaos and Anna trying to defend her sister before leaving, and everything that kept happening just came together lol.

When I first watched it, I didn't see the twist coming and that was surprising to me. I've also listened to the songs in other languages especially Let it go and they were pretty good. I've listened to the Spanish version (Libre soy), French version (Libérée, délivrée), Italian version (D'ora in poi), Mexican version (Livre Estou), Norwegian version (Lå den gå), Chinese version (suí tá ba) and Japanese version (ari no, mama no). If I'm not wrong Frozen is an adaptation of the story of The Snow Queen and before the movie was given the official title of Frozen, I think it was called Princess Anna and The Snow Queen when the movie was still in production. Overall, it is a great movie and I've been trying to get my friend to watch not only this movie but also other movies I've enjoyed but he's not really the movie type of guy, which is fine. But I'm sure he would someday find the joy in watching movies, right now he's more into games especially Angry Birds, even though the trend has gone down it is his childhood so yeah, everyone has their favorite franchise, game, etc. which in my opinion makes us unique.

(And before anyone says "It only made 200k its opening weekend!", if you look, that opening weekend had it in 1 theater. Not sure why, but that wasn't the "real" opening weekend where the general public could go and watch it.)

“Let it go” is a very relatable song since I needed to “behave” when company arrived according to my family. But when I’m alone I can be myself. It’s a big relief.

The voice of Olaf also plays La Fou from the live action Beauty and The Beast, PLEASE watch that movie and I bet you’ll never be able to unhear Olaf’s voice 😂😂😂

Frozen was so great in my eyes that I actually ended up watching it in three movie theater screenings (regular, 3D, and Sing-Along).

I absolutely love that the singing in the title sequence is Norse, as this movie takes place in Norway (It's a big part of my heritage :D)

@Timotheereacts I'm happy to see you watching Frozen. It's such a heartwarming yet spectacular Disney Classic. Let It Go Was Such A Popular Song not only because of Elsa's voice, but the message is incredible. Keep up the amazing work Timothee 👏 👏👏

This might not be the right place, but can I suggest a film? “Only The Brave” is a true story about a crew of wildland firefighters (fight wildfires), and how they became regarded as one of the most elite firefighter crews in America. It’s actually a pretty interesting story about how wildfires are fought, plus it’s a true story.

The public doesn't know of Elsa's powers so that's why the men at the beginning were still getting ice.

So glad you watched this. One of the greats. I know you’ll love the second- it holds a very special place in my heart for personal reasons. I love how you didn’t see the plot twist with Hans- the whole theatre was like Bro? Seriously?! Anyway great reaction!

Me and my sister Saw this in the theater and My dad would make jokes about this movie. In the song “Do you wanna Build a snowman” This one Painting Flew over my head as a kid. Anna says “Hang In there Joan” Which is a paint of Joan of Arc. A famous FEMALE French Soilder.

5:26 Advice: Elsa, you need training soon... I suggest meditation to start with. And I'd definitely invest in snowshoes when playing with your reckless, speedy sister. Anna, when you wake up, we need to talk. You need to listen to Elsa. When she says "slow down," you slow the heck down. Beyond that, try to be a bit more careful. Just because Elsa can make snowdrifts from her fingertips, doesn't mean she'll always have perfect aim. Please, try to work *with* her, rather than pushing her farther than she can handle right now. In the meantime, Elsa, calm yourself. Anna's quite cold at the moment, but she should be okay in a bit. But with your fear skyrocketing, this place is growing colder by the second. Breathe, honey.
