Timothy Carey Pt. 1 - The Godfather

WOW. THANK YOU for posting this. I can clearly see now that he absolutely could have been in either of those Godfathers, he definitely knew Italian! Can you imagine? Timothy Carey as Fanucci?!!!! I had no idea! Love that he gives total respect to the actor who DID end up playing Fanucci. I was just watching Tarantino talking about how Timothy Carey almost got the Lawrence Tierney role in "Reservoir Dogs". Tierney was beyond crazy in his own right, and super difficult to work with but Tarantino says that had he cast Timothy Carey in that role, it would have been even MORE difficult! Watching this, I can see why. Kubrick and Cassavettes certainly knew how to use him, though! Can't take those incredible films/performances away from him, not ever. What an actor, what a wild man, and what a clip! THANK YOU. (And this is just part 1??!!)

Dude, i also ended up here because of Tarantino, and i just saw the Killing and oh boy do i get what he meant.

@@joshsmith3219 Aw man, great movie, right?!!! That movie is obviously a huge influence on Tarantino's early work (he dedicated the Reservoir Dogs script to the author of the book that "The Killing" is based on). I'm sure you've seen Kubrick's next movie, "Paths Of Glory", also with Timothy Carey. One of Kubrick's absolute greatest movies, hands down. Do not sleep on "Paths Of Glory" if you haven't seen it it, it's in the absolute top, top echelon of war movies, and also the top echelon of Kubrick films.....which is saying a lot, right??!!!

@@TTM9691 Well violente is a esential part of any species and as humans we dominated all others species in this regard, so of course Kubrick is very much interested in this topic :p Paths Of Glory is on my list to see next.

It just hit me: we could have had Timothy Carey and De Niro acting opposite each other. Wow. I wouldn't change a single thing about "Godfather Part 2", but I have to admit: the idea of those two in a scene together is too mouth-watering to contemplate.

Timothy Carey apparently believed that it was important to fart and never to hold in gas, otherwise it's bad for your health. Sounds like common sense!
