Tim...thanks to you and your advice I no longer buy puts because I take my losses at 1% or less....quickly! Also, if stock isn't stock isn't increasing in value I don't buy it! I only buy stock that is increasing in value...at least 1%. And I keep and maintain a trade journal! Thank you! You have turned my trading around!!!!

Hey Tim I’m 17 and I know I want to go into day trading. I know the basics and I’m wondering how much more I should study before starting to paper trade? Also wondering if I should drop out of school to completely full send day trading or if I should wait it out and get my diploma which I don’t think will be to useful?
@maks3273 жыл бұрын
Tim isn’t going to tell you to drop out or stay in school. From personal experience of being in tons of debt from college for a degree that means nothing to me I would highly suggest that if you’re unsure about college then take time off and figure it out. Work, study day trading and if you desire to take formal schooling because of a career path you want to head down then go for college - if it makes sense financially for you. As for beginning to paper trade…your studying has to largely include screen time so if you’re not getting live screen time then you’re wasting valuable hours of studying while the market is open. I don’t think it matters if you choose to paper trade or not while you watch and learn but in order to avoid rookie mistakes with your software which you’ll definitely encounter, you should try to paper trade before you use real money. Understand risk management and position sizing before you go into real money and as much as you’d like to just start trading and making money after studying for a while, everyone pays “market tuition” one way or another. Expect to lose and lose for a while when you start so trade small and be patient. Progress isn’t defined by the amount of money you make in a single trade. It’s about learning from all of your mistakes (that you will make) and focusing on improving little by little as you figure it out. Of course this isn’t everything you need to know, but it’s a good start. :)

I learned that even when you make goodmoney (his 30k for example) you don't pull it out and splurge. Hold it and use it to make even more! I like how he kept his part time job to pay his taxes too that's a smart move. I will implement both!
