I just found this video. It says it was made 3 years ago. This was exactly what I was looking for. I'm making Mommy and me towels for a baby shower. So I'll be adding trim to a bath sheet and a smaller towel for baby. I do not sew very often. (I recently made a backpack for my kids Halloween costume. It wasn't bad but it did end up looking like a pillow sham with straps. LOL) Thank you for being so precise & taking the time to demonstrate your work for folk like me who do not sew often. ❤

Very cute idea... and great video on how to make them. Thank you! A quick tip... you can use small pieces of Stitch Witchery to help hold the folds and fabric in place before sewing!

Great tutorial! On the corners I find if I use a little spray starch and iron in the miter and clip it, by the time. Get to the machine it will hold the corner without pins!

When you need a fast gift and just have some fun scraps, this is great! Everyone I know pretty much has all the stuff they need to survive, so making a gift seems to really go a long way, even when it’s as simple as this. Have fun!

Just a question......do you need to prewash towel and fabric.
@timothytotten94092 жыл бұрын
That’s really up to you. I usually prewash when I’m concerned about major shrinkage of the fabrics. So for big quilts I always do. But small projects like this don’t seem to be an issue. At least for me.

Some basic beginner questions... Are you using a Universal needle or what type is best when working with towels? If sewing fabric on top of hand towels or bath towels that may have more of a nap, do you recommend some sort of stabilizer for smoother sewing? If so, what type and when/how would you use the stabilizer?

What sewing machine do you have Tim?

What model machine do you have? I’ve been looking for a new one.
@timothytotten94093 жыл бұрын
I use a Janome 1600p. But it’s a straight stitch machine for high speed volume sewing. It lists around $1,150 new. There are plenty of good machines that are cheaper and not designed for the kind of high-intensity and long-duration sewing my company does.
