I run this on my pa 14. This is the real deal. My 1103 was in the fixed position and i could only make minor steering corrections even with an upgraded aluminum rudder. Now i can turn on a dime. The install is super easy as well.

I like the looks and working of your steering system. Have you seen anyone put this on a Jackson kayak (Big Rig in my case) with the typical track mounts for those kayaks? I'm going to mount a NK300 on it. Thanks!

@@cuivre2004 My Universal Steering is designed for other kayaks. The NK300 has a lot of torque and can be difficult to turn at higher throttle. I recommend, back the throttle off briefly to make more aggressive turns then get back into the throttle.

My Universal Steering System works with any Kayak. All you need is a section of t-track to mount the handle portion

Do you have to have the rudder dropped to steer?

Yes, it controls the rudder as well, but if you pull the motor up, you can steer with just the rudder. When you pull the motor up, it creates slack in the motor cables.
