Tim just so you know, you can find water if you dig down but you ain't gonna find the ocean. Islands don't float either cause if they did, they would sink. The only water you can find is called groundwater and it's nowhere near connected to the ocean nor is it no way as large. Water is really only present in large form on the surface of the earth.

U can find water depending on the location but not the ocean that’s for sure Technically speaking u could dig to find what’s called Groundwater ( I used google translate ) Basically like how wells have been created where rain and other water sources are trapped in a layer that it can’t go through Usually it’s salty and the deeper u go it gets less salty Nowadays some farms use this method to water their plants

Timmy, don't worry, You're actually right about the water thing in a way. There's very few places where you could dig a straight hole from one side of the Earth to the other side and have it be land on both sides. So statistically speaking, most likely, you would start digging your hole get through the center of the earth and once you start coming back to the crust on the other side, you'd probably end up in a body of water. So, you were right all along. From day 1 lol
@Kevin2432
@Kevin2432 Жыл бұрын
There's also a ton of underground aquifers, rivers, and other deposits we probably don't even know about. The Hamza river flows under the Amazon 13000 ft 4km below the surface. There would be a point where water couldn't be found at such heat/pressure.
@coltenharkness7136
@coltenharkness7136 Жыл бұрын
There’s a water table under ground that covers the entire earth. The depth of the table will very depending on Sea level compared to your elevation, and sediment/rock of where you’re digging. So yes no matter where you dig you would hit water within the first 100ft roughly, but it would be fresh ground water. Not the ocean that’s where your wording is wrong.
@Bam_Bam_Bam_Bam
@Bam_Bam_Bam_Bam Жыл бұрын
@@coltenharkness7136 you aren’t wrong but there isn’t a giant sheet of water underground across the entire Earth. I like to think of it like a sponge that sits on a giant sheets of bedrock. Where the water hits the surface of the ground, and depending on the elevation and slant,the water will flow towards the most shallow surface or flow to the nearest water shelf. If it hits solid ground the water will sit and soak/squeeze it’s way through the surface until hitting bedrock. Now in some places under the crust are giant aquifers where some water will store but most sits in the ground where the sand rock and sediment acts like a sponge and holds in the water until it’s used or dried up through evaporation. That’s why when you dig a hole if near the water shelf unless you hit an aquifer, the water has to seep out slowly through the soil and is a process. Solid ground does exist and so do giants lakes and rivers of water.

@tokyosour4215
@tokyosour4215 Жыл бұрын
@gigamad1729 and I said, if he dug through the earth to the direct other side, he would MOST LIKELY end up coming up through a body of water. Like if you poked a hole through a globe, you might go through land on one side but the other side would be ocean. Not just some random little body of water. Re-reading my initial comment I didn't specify "ocean" but that is what I meant, like going through the earth all the way out through an ocean on the other end

3:35 Not really, that's a crepe...a pancake is thicker...LIKE. A. CAKE. 5:54 Megalodon could not live at that depth, it's too big, creatures that low down are all small or jellyfish-like to cope with the immense pressures, if YOU went down there you would be crushed just by the pressure. 9:59 TIMMY ! Water boils into steam at 100c, he's talking about temperatures 500 times that, the water wouldn't even last a millisecond. 11:25 You can have water pockets, just as you can have gas pockets (which they collect with fracking), where the water/gas is trapped, that's where geysers come from. Islands STILL don't float, they're just like a mountain that starts under sea level, so they're surrounded on all side by the ocean.

There's a chance that there's an ocean beneath the Earth's crust that's up to 2x the volume of the oceans on the surface. However, that water - if it is present - is contained in a type of rock called ringwoodite, which form within Earth's crust and have come to the surface with water contained inside. Considering how this rock only forms beneath the Earth's crust, that suggests there is water down there, but it's lost in all the near-molten to molten rock far beneath our feet.

Scientifically speaking you still could not drill through and get to the other side of the Earth. He said, you'd have to drill the hole and build a vehicle that can handle the pressure and heat, but this vehicle would be driven by gravity. They did this in the movie The Core, which this video used clips of. The problem is gravity is always toward the center of the Earth. So once you are at the core, the vehicle has no driving force.

Their can be pockets of water underground, but it would not be the ocean. Where you think well water comes from. However you cant just dig so far then fall into the ocean. The ocean doesnt go under our landmasses. If that was the case all the countries would just be free floating bumping into eachother lol.

Yes Tim there is water underground, BUT only in specific pockets of the earth’s crust. Not any oceans down there. There was 6 quintillion gallons of groundwater in the upper 1.2 miles of the Earth's crust, while the oceans hold 352 quintillion gallons. Just very small ( depending how you look at it) pockets of water.
