I wonder how you guys come up with all those maj9, m9 and 13 type of chord progressions. Especially that high up the fretboard on acoustic.

@@tnsaturday sometimes these things might be inspired by a movement I've heard elsewhere, and will just be trying to (uncomfortably) find a similar movement and colour on the guitar. So it will be translating ideas from other instruments rather than using 'standard' acoustic guitar patterns.
