Loved the pond and garden is beautiful, fish look happy. The only I think may have looked a bit better is bigger rock on the waterfall, but having said that design is a personal thing. As long as the owner is happy then that’s what counts.

Congratulations to the owner and creator. This is what a koi pond should look like. They certainly should not look like swimming pools so children shout at their swimwear when they see them. Unfortunately, only aquatic plants are missing here, but the development has gone more and more away from keeping Koi under more natural conditions, which should actually be the most natural thing in the world.

Hi Tim, that is a beautiful pond. How does the owner deter Herons from attacking the fish ? I’m planning my new pond build and want to make it as Heron-proof as possible without using unsightly netting etc. Do you have any suggestions / examples of ponds you’ve seen where this has been considered ? I appreciate the beauty and natural design involved in the 4000 gallon pond, beautiful garden, and falls there as well as fish, Im not a fan of the stone and gravel gardens a bit to uniform and sterile leaving it with out a natural flare, although the trees are amazing I feel it would look more amazing in a more natural setting .

Just before the 4” pipe goes into the inlet of the Nexus add a T piece with a valve to waste. No pond of my own.

I noticed once again today when delivering fish that you only floated the bag but did not mix in any of the pond water prior to releasing the fish! I have always read and been told by dealers that it is essential to do this. Is there any reason why you never seem to?

Because there is no need to do so. The temps were the same, the water from both systems is excellent. The koi traveled 30 mins. Not sure what 1 minute of mixing a bit of water would do for the Koi to be honest, absolutely nothing.

Iam surprised they use such sharp rocks along the edges some of them hit the top of the water , there sharp and when the are mating can get cut really bad on them , people that build a pond should always use river rock , rounded off and koi’s will not get cut with them .. beautiful pond and koi tho .
