Bit of advice… the O rings that come with the threaded fitting should be used, save yourself on PTFE 👍 also you might want to invest in a wood bit to drill through wood before the masonry

We just use PTFE from habit. Didn’t realise we would have to put it on a support ( we really didn’t look before we unboxed)

crazy that this costs nearly the same as a tempest, not that they're the same thing but build wise not a lot in it, either this is underpriced or the tempest is overpriced as for £25 difference you get brackets, UV, ball valves and the tempest you get a couple of slide valves and a good luck fitting mate.

Any manufacturer has the same issue… they need to sell at a cost they can make it worth it for them… as a dealer we won’t sell it unless it’s worth it for us.

Hi Tim,ive had my surge filter running for about two months now used it as a polisher after my eazypod instead of the Tempest as that was to tall my water has never been better its crystal clear.

Excellent! How often are you cleaning it? Are you noticing a lot of debris caught? The unit has made the water clearer?

Clean it once a week same time as the eazypod,yes quiet a bit of debris comes out,took about two weeks to notice a big difference in the water clarity.

Won’t the UV being that close to the K1 kill any beneficial bacteria?

The UV is a clarifier not a steriliser. It’s also only 18w of power, I personally don’t think so but we will address it on the next video 👍

My problem with this is surely everything that catches it’s just gonna get melted by the uv being so close to the media and end up in the pond anyway? Any algae particles are gonna get killed as well as most other things.
