Coming from someone with 18 years of experience, this is one of the most well-explained videos on integral I have seen on the internet. Great work Tim!

We should do a few videos together. I bet it would be great content for those looking to learn

Thanks Shane. Your content is great as well, feel free to reach out!

These videos are great, They are helping me understand some issues we have, where a process pauses and when it starts again and the output is far too high. I now think the Integral is causing the issue, I'm looking forward to the next video. Thanks

I've been doing PLC since 2/30s in the mid 80s :) I've always been able to avoid PID, or just buy standalone heating controllers for an extruder. Just started a new job, and I've gotta learn PIDE as they are currently using them. And these videos are helping. You have a great ability to teach. Thank you.

I'm glad to hear it. We are actually working on some new PID videos.

You inspired me to write a PIDE simulator. Then I could watch the interaction of the P and I Gains. I don't have access to an actual device to monitor so I wrote some logic to do it in emulator, while I wait for a project.

You rock Tim. You make the hard Math simple. In the last vid of the series can you do cascading or a 3 element control? I really just want to see how you can simplify that math. IE water level control resetting a fill control and adding a usage or drain rate to anticipate a level drop. Challenge make that simple. Love your vids. Keep it up

I'll do my best Ray, let me see how the "simple" explanation of derivatives goes 🖖

I like your way of explanation, Kindly explain DERIVATIVE control also.So, That I can learn whole PID concept very well...Waiting for this very long time.

Thanks for these videos! I think you should show how PI reacts since I've heard that a lot of times people don't even use the "D" (derivative) function. Thanks again.

Hello Tim, Your content is awesome. When are you going to upload the PI control setup i.e., how the proportional and Integral work together to control the process variable?

I think it is a great lesson Tim. I think it might be important to include whether you are using Independent vs Dependent model and the difference between those two models.

Hi Robert. That is already on the list to cover. Thanks for watching!

This is a great demonstration video. Thank you!! But I still miss the positional form, rather than the velocity form. In engineering school, they taught me 3 ways to calculate the best PID parameters, with the positional PID controller.

@@TimWilborne just want to second this idea. Working on a dependent PID block, love this video, its definitely helping me out immensely. I could just also use one on the dependent version.

A wise man once told me, "The D in Derivative stands for Do Not Use".
@TheBrownDoggie Жыл бұрын
Use it only if you don't have a noisy measurement signal AND you need a quick bump to the final control element.
