I totally get this. My BMW Z4 M40i was near silent especially as after turning off the fake sounds (big stereo install made it boom😖) I fitted a sports cat downpipe which made it a bit louder but removing the OPF and fitting a straight pipe made it wayyy to loud, especially as there’s no other resonators or secondary cats, just the back box. Back to the exhaust specialist and they made a straight through resonator and fitted it in place of the OPF bypass. This resulted in a quiet but nicely fruity sound. The factory back box has a single valve and twin outlets. I fitted a Remus with quad outlets and two valves. This resulted in a quiet but fruity sound with the valves closed and louder but not ASBO sound with them open. I have a ASR valve remote for total control. It’s now safe to boot it with the valves closed. It took a while but it’s now near perfect 🥰
