Great video. Love all the info! Just an observation, couldn’t you add a shim when using the dies from China? Each machine is going to be different and adding additional layers of card stock or thin metal should help to create enough pressure to cut through the tin. Cheers from FL😺

What do you do about the sharp edges on the tin once cut?

I feel like I must be doing something wrong as I cut a tin into useable parts. I have a pair of metal shears from Home Depot, but it just seems really awkward to cut. Could you do a video about that part of the process? Is it just a matter of getting used to using metal shears? I'm having difficulty with getting a straight line without a bunch of burrs as I try to re-set the shears to the metal along the edges. it's really messy and the edges end up super jagged.

Great video! Thank you! I recently thought I’d try cutting some earring components from tin. I was wondering if there was a way to work harden it because I noticed it could bend pretty easily. It’s just unpainted tin that I wanted to scratch texture and put some hammered bumpy texture on. I don’t know what I am doing though. Do you ever use unpainted tin? Anyway, loved your video!

I work harden by embossing the thin tin with scrapbooking embossing folders. I have also used texture hammers. Layering and riveting thin tin together is also an option. I’m not sure what you mean by unpainted tin. If you are talking about the bottom of decorative tins then yes, I use it all the time.
