I have admired you for decades. My freedom day was 5/10/2021. My spouse unfortunately took the opportunity to start physically abusing me AFTER I sustained a traumatic brain injury and took full control of everything. I escaped with no plan, nothing except full knowledge that he would kill me if I stayed. 4 months later and he is STILL after me. My communication sucks because of my TBI I can’t explain anything effectively. I have nothing and nobody will help me but for some reason, I’M. STILL. HERE!! 💪💚💜 So grateful to stumble across this tonight when I couldn’t sleep to keep me going!

I dont think you ever get completely over the kind of abuse she went through. Especially when it becomes such public knowledge. Her strength and resilience is remarkable, there is no doubt about it, but I do think she puts on a mask when talking about this, maybe as a way of protecting herself.

Imagine all the skits and jokes performed and made about her physical abuse. For years and even to the day she transitioned. There are jokes about her abuse on KZbin as I type at this very moment. I'm sure that helped to prolong the memories and the trauma.

She was CLEARLY laughing in discomfort. I don't get how these interviewers didn't seem to understand that this was horrifying for her. I get wanting salient details, but this was this woman's reality and no matter how often she said it hurt her, they just continued to demand that she go back to that trauma

Sad when you realise that most women who are abused are never able to break the chain. And the cycle usually passes on to their children. Look at Tina. With the platform that she had it took her years to break free. And even then she is still worried about saying something on tv that might aggravate him. Devastating.

I barely made it out alive in 2019 and can't get the da to press attempted murder assault and battery with a deadly weapon and DOMESTIC violence assault battery with intent to kill. Caught on tape and small town one judge. I ran to save my life did what I had to but how do I get justice when the system is failing me at every turn? Because they brush me off constantly. Yet the cops got their day in court.

You could see her eyes getting watery the moment he was even brought up (At a point i don't know why she continued to discuss something so far in her past)......As a product of domestic violence, i can say that very quickly the individual being abused graduates from victim to enabler.....My advice would be Once someone/anyone shows you who they are, believe them...The very 1st time an individual hits you, LEAVE b/c an individual that hits you once, is going to hit you again n again b/c they are a violent individual with NO self control (that is not gender specific).....At a point the the person being abused reaches a point of accomodation/acceptence of the situation. They all rationalize remaining in an abusive relationship with "But i love him/her"....There is nothing wrong with loving someone, but at all times you must love yourself just a little bit more..

When I was taking my GED Classes closed to covid arriving one of my classmates came to class with bruises all over her face, she have an black eye. She keep saying she fell but her abusive boyfriend beat her up before class begin

I've been writing in my diary daily my fear of my violent brother, l had called the cops on him 2 days ago, l had to sleep overnight in the hotel. Now l'm home again and afriad to leave my room, always checking to see if his in his bedroom before coming out of my room. I can't stay in any room for too long in fear he will come out of his room and start talking to me. I carry around a pair a scissors on my hip, in case he might attack me. I carry it around on me all day every day. I carry my phone around too, in case l need to call the cops on him again. I'm so depressed 😔 I've been applying for a new place to live.
