Now you gotta see the Let's Dance medley they did afterward. It's legendary. 🥰 By the way, he saved her career. A little while after she separated from Ike Turner and started her solo career, her songs started to flounder and she ended up with no label. She had to make ends meet by performing as a cabaret singer. David skipped EMI's release party for his Let's Dance album to go see her perform with Keith Richards. The media followed them and the ensuing circus encouraged Capitol Records to sign Tina and release the Private Dancer record. As thanks to David, she put a cover of his song 1984 on it, recorded the studio version of this song with David on his album Tonight, performed his song Cat People live, and even more than that, graciously accepted a song that he and his bassist Erdal Kizilcay wrote for her called Girls, which became a single on her next album Break Every Rule. They truly loved each other and wanted one another to succeed. It's a true friendship, whether romantic or platonic. 🥰💕

Great performance! Their chemistry was palpable 😊. When Tina Turner’s “Private Dancer” came out, It marked one of the biggest comebacks in music; she was huge!!! I had the album, and my boyfriend’s (at the time) mother was a big fan and took us to see her in concert ❤️. Another great duet she did at the time: “What about Love” with Bryan Adams 🔥

Teez, there was some controversy at the time that the two of them hooked up (due to people who read lips), which Bowie was known for bedding most of the women he worked with. Turner has never confirmed when asked directly in interviews, but she is pure class & never confirmed (but watching her I am convinced she was not being truthful my - opinion, of course). Their chemistry is certainly off the chart either way! Personally I love the bit at the end with the fan who jumped on stage, Bowie gave her a quick kiss as she was being escorted off. Made me love him even more (if that's even possible). 😍

@Teez Magee It isn't proper for an interviewer to stick a mic in your face & ask a personal question like that. She handled herself like a real lady. (But her eyes told ME a story!)

Tina gratitude to bowie, Mick jagger, iggy, was from her heart become they helped to resurrect her career, produced, wrote her come back album n even helped her a great deal from record company at that time.
@clareparfittwinchester52443 жыл бұрын
Tina Turner has recorded an interview in which she said that she and Mick Jagger larked around like sister and brother. She and David Bowie were good friends too. Tina said that during this tour she asked David Bowie to be "big and golden". He did it for her. David Bowie is neither big, nor golden, but he helped Tina Turner's career by appearing in her concert when he was at the height of his mainstream pop Let's Dance fame. Tina Turner is not a person to be "bedded". You disrespect her, by saying that David "bedded" her.
