Tina was a new age thinker her round-about way of answering a question she didn't want to truly tackle was interesting. As a fan I noticed she distanced herself from being defined by race, gravitated to mostly white surroundings and felt she had "transcended race". I think her only true friend who was black was Oprah who was also approaching her life the same way in regards to race. Oprah is more pro-black now than she has ever been.
