i find it crazy how we're so stuck on listening, consuming what we're used to now that we have the ability to discover new/old music sounds in any language with all these diffrent cultures to learn about, new sounds, so many diffrent intresting storys to know just a click away yet a lot people around me complains about now having any more shows to watch,a song to listen or a book to read. maybe its exactly because there are so many options out there we dont go looking for it. anyways im happy to see someone who was intrested enough and enjoyed anatolian rock if i wasnt turkish idk if i would come across these artist and learn about them, but this video made me want to look for diffrent genres in diffrent language's thanks for the effort

A little info about the song Köprüden Geçti Gelin in the video: the name means that the Bride had passed the bridge and the song is a folk song originally performed by famous Turkish poet-singer Neşet Ertaş . His songs were huge sources for Anatolian Rock music in the Western part at that times.

Palmiyeler has nothing to do with anatolian rock. They are the unofficial continuation of an early 2000s Turkish punk band called "Kilink". I'd classify their music as surf/indie rock with a ton of reverb. Besides that, amazing video. Both information and editing wise.

Turkish alphabet is a phonetic sign system. There is one unique sound for each letter. Very regular and easy: A : as in Alaska (always) E : as its first appearance in Elder (always) C : as J in "John" (this can be hard :) ) J : Sounds like the last sound of the French pronunciation of "Lagrange" Ç : as ch in "cheer" Ğ : Like a soft w from throat (does not exist in english) Ş : Like sh in sherwood Ö : Like in German .. e.g.: österrich Ü : Like in German .. e.g.: über We also have a dotless i "ı" that sounds like the e in "parker".

I’m really enjoying how it blends traditional and modern elements to create a unique sound-very lively and energetic-with rich cultural influences. I’m captivated by its vibrant rhythms. There are big names in Anatolian rock like Cem Karaca, Erkin Koray, Barış Manço, and new-generation rockers like Altın Gün, Ayyuka, and many others. They check all the right boxes for rockers. 😍

Great video. Both the original and the modern examples are very good. And the montage quality is also top tier. It's a shame that politics and social unrest put an end to such a great musical movement. Anatolian Rock or Anadolu Rock as Turkish people call it, is really something more people should know. It contains some ideas like microtonality in a such streamlined way that Western audiences could enjoy.

Central Asian immigration to Turkey (through the Muhacir wave) brought a large variety of new instruments and styles of music (especially Kazakh and Uzbek drone-type vocals) to the Turkish mainstream by the mid-1960s, influencing the birth of the genre also. The general "disorganisation" of Central Asian music production also found its way into Anatolian rock, creating a sound that was chaotic but beautiful because it was chaotic and disorderly.
