At age 66 I can only hear up to 12Khz so I was pleasantly surprised by the KZ pr3. This may be good for me and other older people. We need more ageing reviewers

Age, volume, and your music library all have a big influence on your perception out there at 12k.

That graph looked like some of TRN's IEMs with boosted upper treble.
@PaulWasabii5 ай бұрын
I didn't want to focus on the graph as that part of the graph is very variable across measurements and tips. What matters is what your ears do with the boost out there.

That pinna looks brutal, and it is a lot of energy in the 2-8k range. I hope it sounds better than it graphs.
@PaulWasabii5 ай бұрын
Not as brutal as it looks but you can't wave your magic wand over 99% of graphs and say it sounds radically different than it measures.

A 300 mesh might help with that bright treble maybe?
@PaulWasabii5 ай бұрын
Yeah sure. I am not a huge fan of putting more in front of the nozzle on a planar but worth a try. Planars are real sensitive to tuning materials

How does it compare to the S12?
@PaulWasabii4 ай бұрын
Eh, just get the S12 Pro, It is still the king of this planar style.

Apparently tin will launch an app where in you can use dsp like the moondrop may
@PaulWasabii5 ай бұрын
That would help. As I said, its a nice driver, it will EQ well if they can do that.

@@PaulWasabii thats awesome then. Apparently you can already use the app in windows, its just not ready for android yet

Letshuoer S08 warmer than this?
@xTG14x5 ай бұрын
100%, the S08 are nowhere near this elevated. I think S08 is even warmer than the Timeless AE

Yeah S08 is warm

The S08 is warmer than even the OG P1 Max.

I really didn't like the tuning on this set. The extra energy past 8K really made it shrill, grainy and fatiguing for me. I much preferred the P1 Max II and the P1 Max. I didn't buy the USB C version because the app isn't ready, and if the Moondrop App is anything top go by, even when it does release, it will be buggy and finicky. I actually preferred Stellaris to this.
@PaulWasabii5 ай бұрын
I don't really know what they were thinking. As I said, its risky putting that much energy out there, you hear it one way, others might love it, others have a source that smooths or rolls it. Stellaris also had a wicked planar that Moondrop should use in another set.

Tin keeps fucking up their legacy w/ all this mediocre releases. T2, t4, p1, p2 are gems. Other than that all this crappy releases are terrible.
@PaulWasabii5 ай бұрын
Its not that they mess up the legacy, but continue trying to do something different than acknowledging why people loved their older sets. I will admit that I thought they had an easy task with p1max and again, went different just to be different? I agree, its frustrating if you have been in the hobby for a while and remember what they did in the past.

Comfort and fitment? Those have to go at the beginning of every IEM review, IMO. It could be excellently sounding IEMs, but if a pair is uncomfortable, there is no point of going through the whole review and certainly, there is no point in purchasing those. Please modify your reviews so they are more customer oriented than just concentrating on measures and graphs.
@spamcan92085 ай бұрын
Comfort and fit vary so widely that unless there's a severe flaw, it's almost moot to discuss. I'd rather know the tuning first so I can rule a set in or out based on what I'm looking for at the time.
@trubadyr995 ай бұрын
@@spamcan9208 I disagree. Almost everyone considers IE 900 to be very comfortable. And Monarchs are widely known to be very uncomfortable.
@spamcan92085 ай бұрын
@@trubadyr99 I feel like those are outliers. Same with Singolo. Normally iems don't have a reputation for how poorly they fit or how comfortable they are. Usually you buy a set and they either fit or they don't. Sometimes a set requires different tips for them to fit you while the stock tips work just fine for someone else. But I watch other channels if I want more info about fit. This one focuses on the tuning and it's why I watch.
@trubadyr995 ай бұрын
@@spamcan9208 Problem is that lots of very interesting IEMs are sold from overseas. I live in the US, and it's not very practical to purchase IEMs, wait a long time for them to be delivered, then try them on only to discover that they will not be comfortable, so I'd have to send them back. I appreciate when reviewers demonstrate the IEMs on from different angles and share their impressions not only about tuning but start their reviews with fit and comfort.
