Ooooo the paper hanging and then the corner piece of paper ! Genius! I do like the idea of that and the final look is really nice too. Ha ha I went to Rymans and bought all the A1 card colours the have !

I use the colored paper (called “railroad board” here in the US) for onsite food photography. I buy the multi-colored pack and a pack of white. When they get dirty, I just throw them away and get a fresh one. The pack is now (inflation) $38 US for pack of 25 (sized 55.88 CM by 71.22 CM - 22” x 28” US)

Hi What do you do make sure that the 'blueness' or "yellowness" of the foreground still remains. Flash tends to wash the boards out.
@morganames92 жыл бұрын
This is great! Can you do a video on editing and smoothing the seamless backdrop paper? I've seen it done with portrait photography and I would imagine the process is the same, but think it would be helpful to see nonetheless.

Funny! I literally just spayed some backgrounds for the shoot that I mentioned on Patreon!! I used an HVLP gun to spray them, but basically the same idea. I was really impressed with the quality of the finish, compared to using a roller or spray can.

I'd love to see a video on how you achieve your sharp shadow edges Scott. I've been trying to replicate that sunny day look here but my shadows suck. Have tried bare bulb, Spill Kill, with skrim, without skrim, close light source, far light source but still all my shadows have soft edges. I'm currently chewing through Karl Taylors paid courses but I can't find the answer there either.
@TinHouseStudioUK2 жыл бұрын
bare bulb and light about 8-10 meters from the subject will do it.

Love your video mate, real raw info as it should be. Probably my number one creator at the minute Do you make the square boxes for props or just buy them and repaint for each use?
@TinHouseStudioUK2 жыл бұрын
I buy them. I tried to make them in the past but making a nice box is actually very hard!

I use the paper sheets a lot! Easy to store and to transport. I use an art case to protect and transport them around. Very nice when you're starting out and need something easy to bring on location. I have a small clamp, magic arm and a stand that's used primarily to prop those sheets up😂

I know that the wooden prop blocks are pretty expensive so, if you're on a budget, have you used the foam prop blocks and if so, how would you rate them?
@avibrantmind2 жыл бұрын
I have some, and tbh they only go "so far". Light/small objects mostly, and they will dent or get damaged easily if you are not careful. Also not sure about painting them. I was wondering about more affordable wood props, as the foam is limited in use and longevity.
