WOW ! Great video. Thanks! What about curved text on a flat surface ? For example, I mean a text that follows the shape of the lower or upper semicircle of the upper round face of a cylinder.

This technique works well on other projects .. I was able to create a helmet and putting my fav sports team logo on it as an extrusion on the sides.. so this for sure not limited to jus text.

how don't they make it where you just place the text wording right in front where ever you want and selection the text and the object and it just mergers it together with out all the other steps involved . if you want it on the other side just do the same thing,

Really good and exactly what I needed, but the video could have been 30 seconds instead of 11 minutes. Assume that total beginners won't want to do shaped letters, so showing how to select 2 vs 3 shapes is a waste of time. One small issue with this technique is that the letters on the edge get skewed - eg I can't use it to wrap a text around a cylinder. Still looking for solutions for that.
