As you noticed at the end, this text is not wrapped/curved. It is 90 degree text on a 360 degree surface, that is why it does not look good unless you are looking straight at it. This is still a useful technique, but you should be more accurate with your wording, this technique will always limit your wording to be limited to less than the diameter of the cylinder/sphere/etc. I am just getting into 3D printing and I am watching a lot of videos to prepare myself a bit. It seems TinkerCad is great for beginners, so I expect I will use it often. That being said, and not having used it yet, I am wondering if it is capable of wrapping text at all? If not, I am thinking a better alternative would be doing each letter individually, and rotating the surface for each letter so that if you extend the letters into the sphere/cylinder each letter's center would pass through the center of the sphere/cylinder. This would involve a lot more work and calculations, but it would yield a much better result, and allow you to "wrap" the entire circumference/surface.

rotag_bhd you are completely right. From what I know that’s the only other way to get curved text. It would give you a much nicer result but, it would be harder.

@@MakerJake I just started TinkerCad for the first time, so I really have no idea how to accomplish what I want. That being said, I have figured out a better way to "wrap" text, and it seems to be simple but, I do not how to achieve what I am thinking. You have more knowledge on using this, so it should be easy for you. Here is what to do if I can explain it clearly: What I am doing is using a cylinder to begin with, for this example I am using the following dimensions: Cylinder: Diameter of 100mm, height 20mm Next, let's wrap this cylinder with the word SAMPLE, and have it be raised off the surface by 2mm Use the TEXT tool and type the letter S Rotate the letter in the appropriate way, I made the "S" 12mm tall, then used the align feature to center the "S" Next, after many tries I figured out how to stretch the "S" so that it is 104mm (the cylinder is 100 plus we want 2mm raised added to both sides to keep it symmetrical giving us 104mm). Once you have the letter "S" where you want it, and going though the center of the circle and sticking out 2mm on each side, duplicate the letter, then use the rotate feature to rotate the new "S" to the right, then change the second "S" to "A" I'm sure you could do the math and calculate exactly how far to rotate each letter, but for now I am just "eyeballing" the spacing of each letter. Repeat this process until you have "SAMPLE" This is where I am stumped. I have to learn how to group and add/remove sections, but you know how and I am sure you already figured out how to remove the "backside" of whatever you typed, which will be sticking out with the letters inverted. The more circumference you use with wording will eventually overlap, so this technique will need to be done in sections and compiled later (if you get my meaning?) This will give a fantastic look on cylinders to wrapped text, and I suspect it will be decent n spheres as well, provided the sphere is sufficiently larger than the text.

i just realized a better way would be to stretch the letters farther than needed, let's say 10mm sticking out both sides, then after you have to text finished, make a cylinder with a diameter of 104mm and use that to trim off our text so that the surface area will be parallel to the cylinder. For larger things this improvement will be noticeable, smaller things not so much. Food for thought anyhow :p
