That's the one I was waiting for after the Ruler Midpoint video! Now let me add that a license of Fusion 360 is currently 300 USD -- that's very prohibitive for beginners or hobbyists IMHO, specially if you don't live in USA or Europe (wait, that's me!). So, learning how to take the most out of a free tool like Tinkercad is definitely an enabler and you're playing a fundamental role in that! Thank you so very much and enjoy the long weekend!

Ops, my bad! You're 100% correct -- they don't advertise that though, but I found it on their Knowledge page. Anyway, I do agree -- Tinkecad is definitely fun and even intuitive once you go through it a few times. Their lessons are definitely helpful as well.

After selecting the top side, click the lower left icon to "Switch to Orthographic View." This flattens the image so that you aren't trying to see inside, making it much easier to position the openings. Once you are done, click again to switch back to "Perspective View" to restore the illusion of depth.

Thank you. I’m trying to figure how to add a hole every 120° around of disc. I’ll try why you just showed

Is there a way to specify angle degrees for a polygon in Tinkercad?

Could you make them 90 degrees to each other, then align to the lower corner? Really like your videos..keep em coming :)

great video! but maybe the new "align" function now can make the aligning job faster and much precise in the case! (may not suitable in some other case)

Easier way to rotate it around the center is to add a block on the other side of the arm with the same length and group together. When you rotate, it will go around the center hole. After you made the other arms, ungroup and remove the blocks. It will be perfectly centered without having to "eye ball" it.

I do it by keeping track of the dimensions. With a 3mm wall and a 22mm hole, the center is 14mm. I like keeping my dimensions exact in the design and scale up/down for tolerances in my slicer. I print my fidget spinners at 101% usually.

I realize that this is an old video and the program may have changed, but you don't have to go through all of that madness to align the first duplicate. Just use the Ruler, find the X and Y end points of the original, Duplicate it, Rotate the duplicate, and set the duplicate to the same end points on the Ruler. Then you can just continue duplicating as before. Also, with the arrow keys or by dragging you can move things in increments as small as .1mm but with the Ruler you can move things in increments as small as .01mm. The Ruler rules!

I understand that tinkercad may be a good option for absolute beginners, but, sometimes you have unnecessary work doing trivial stuff. A project like this could be made in less than 30 second with perfect precison in a better cad program, no eyeball adjustments. You could even change the number of arms by changing only one number field.

paulo pereira - I have a real hard time working and watching these 3d printer related programs, because of it's "basic" dumbed down level. Thus making it hard to actually do something that should be easy. I used to work in 3D Studio Max and that is a professional tool that actually helps you model. Where as these other 3d print model programs I find hinder more than help. Frustrating at times.
