Great review. Have the old 2730 since 2014, have sometimes been frustrated in the past with stalling and bogging down in cuts. I see the new 2833 is now being paired with an 8.0 battery for $229 and the online Home Depot 24 hour sale has that combo marked down to $189 today only. However even if you miss it, they’ll often include the same deal in one of their future sales that they run online daily.

It's a great value at that price. Given that the battery version is more than that originally, you are getting a steal!

@@TinkerWithTools how bad is the sawdust? In my experience, I had better luck with some.

It makes a mess for sure but most circular saws will. The dust port helps a little but it still is messy.

I am getting used to the shorter bed, and the new guide cuts . Here is a list of things that BY THEMSELVES I would have upgraded for, let alone getting them ALL..!! 1. If all they changed was adding a belt hook, I would have upgraded, 2. if all they had done was added detents, 3. if the only change was more power it would be a worthy upgrade. 4. If the guard “tooth” was the only new feature, less pinching if the blade is set low. 5. If less weight/size was all. 6. More Power is definately worth it.!

FLEX inline is a little bit heavier but the power outperforms all others, I've seen professionals use the inline 6.5 for framing, as strong as 7-1/4" saws.

@@TinkerWithTools oh sorry it is GSH05Z in the US, they were smart enough to launch it there :D
@renurenovationsllc77806 ай бұрын
@@riba2233XGT tools struggle because they are amp limited. The current 21700 cells in 4.0/8.0 batteries cannot supply the amp output that 6.0, 12.0 or stacked lithium can. Often watts output on Milwaukees tools drops about 15-20% when going from 6.0 battery to the 8.0 to a 6.0. Since Makita XGT uses the same cell types it is easy to see why they struggle to compete on power. When they upgrade their batteries they may be able to compete.

I have the 61/2 2630- 20 brushed ,this would be nice for the run time and more power/ speed , are Forge batteries worth the premium? @TinkerWithTools6 ай бұрын
When using with the newer tools, I think the forge battery makes a little bigger difference, but overall, either the high output or the forge batteries make a nice improvement to most tools performance. What really sells it for me is that the Forge batteries aren't priced significantly higher than their existing batteries. When they announced the new Forge 8.0 and 12.0 at the recently pipeline event, they had the same price as the existing high output options for the 8/12 ah batteries. So for roughly the same price, I defer to the better battery.

Also, considering the blade on the new saw is a cheap high-speed, steel blade compared to the old, saw with the carbide teeth, Diablo, which makes a noticeable difference. So even more impressive.
@TinkerWithTools5 ай бұрын
Yeah, there is an update in store for it... I just used the blade it came with for the video. The blade on the new saw wasn't incredibly new but it also wasn't near time to change it. The new saw really just feels different in the best way. The only negative I see is that you have a slightly less easy to cut guides.

@@TinkerWithTools I was a little disappointed to see that myself. I really liked the fit and finish of those stainless steel etched plates. those were a nice premium touch, but also functional they were legible and defined.

The future will have a dust collection system but even that becomes problematic with filming because of the noise. I would love to make my way outside but the issue is simply I don't usually have time to record until kids are in bed and it's dark.
