Walts the original "godfather of the kit saw" I surely wouldn't be where I am today without his channel ..I found him 5yrs ago when I got into the kit saws back when they needed alot of tweaking to make reliable...now since theres no saw shops around(old guys retired)im the guy local tree services come to build, fix n modify their saws n have made a decent side hustle doing so......I appreciate you both!!

Nice saw Tinman. Walt has been saying a lot lately he doesn’t like to start the big 90+cc saws. It is getting difficult for him. Can’t wait to see it in the wood. He has been running the Hultz G395XP a lot lately. It seems to start pretty easy and run very good. I cut down bigger trees with my MS 461, then limb it up with the 55. Sit up the log with the 54 till it is about 14” Then the 461 gets fired back up and it just wants to eat wood.

Still have my 092 from my BC Coastal logging days, now it seems it weighs something like it's welded to the floor. LOL It's been jugged a few times, but it's just part of me, sits on the shelf mostly, but it gets a few workout, or should I say I do, make short order of firewood days with friends. I'm still not a Husky guy, the buckers had them.rougher, tougher mounts.

If you see pictures of the Jonsered/husqvarna factory in Sweden you see it’s two mirrored production lines. Back then Jonsered was the premiere brand out of the two. Newer tech like pistons, carbs, cylinder liners……the core parts were essentially interchangeable between the equivalent models, but the red ones were occasionally better.

@@tinmanssaws For real brother! They had their sh!t together back in the 2094 days. I'm no historian, but have heard that Husqvarna used a good amount of Jonsered innovation on their 200 series of pro saws. My father was a faller from '71 to '97 then went to a private firewood business.... Always with Jonsered. He should have retired multiple times. We begged him. My entire family was afraid he'd stroke out or grab his chest and hit the dirt. But his passion was above and beyond. It literally took Husqvarna to dump Jonsered in favor of Redmax for him to finally give it up. I'll always have a special place in my heart for JRed. Still got his last saw. A 1998 CS2065 (husky 365). It's as mint as I can make it. But the mag case is rough. Trying to find a better substitute.

In the karting world as well as the Radio Control airplane world handheld electric starters are the norm. I'm strongly considering designing an 3D printed adapter to use to start big wood saws. That way old timers or those with shoulder issues like me can have a chance with the big wood saws. I think an adapter will be easy. But I think a different flywheel cover would need to be fabricated as some kind of click attach. What's your thoughts on this?

If you got a minute I have a 262xp starts good and runs fine cut with it after it gets through about a half a tank of gas when you let off the fuel it dies starts right back up. Jonsered saws: 625 longer stroke low end torque for hardwood 630 shorter stroke faster response and rpm for the pulpwood guys 670 a blend of both of them makes for a great saw. They 670 champ (don't remember the year it came out) but it took the world championships that year.

Except they are all the same stroke... 625 and 630 are both 48mm bore, 625 is open port, 630 is closed(Uses the Husky 162 cylinder) 670 is 50mm bore, just like the 266 and 268, but the 670 was by far the hottest of the three stock.
