Thanks, this is great! I've used my soldering iron to "strip" enamel many times, but never scraped the wire like that first. I definitely will do that next time!

Nice tip with the box Bob. When your phone rang I jumped up. Glad is wasn't mine with the usual call from Rachel at card member services or John from India telling me there was a problem with my computer :)

A built a repulsion coil for a science project way back in grade school. Didn't scrape the enamel off the power wires so it wouldn't work. Luckily my uncle figured it out.
