My friend , i tip my hat to this film...very clever in the presentation of a small piece of time and history where so many people from so many places had to bear the deep Waters of what war is and still cultivate the eternal principles of common and love...the scene where the doctor makes sure Muller gets the medal back after placing it apon the dead chest of the young soldier spoke through time to my memories and the life and love I've shared and lost with so many wonderful people in so many wonderful places...love is everything..thank you for your efforts and accomplishments ..I salute you brother 😎

Just remember this was the first movie I ever directed over 10 years ago, so certainly it has flaws, but with this edit of the movie I tried to fix some of the problems and issues that had made it into the original release, and also added before unseen footage and small scenes. What we wanted to do was to tell part of the story facing the Germans in Normandy, as it is mostly untold in movies. And of course add a little romance as we are in France right. It may be a battle heavy war film, but I do love the scene in the prison and I hope you galls do to:-) Enjoy

Great movie! War is clearly not just about us vs them as your film so heart-breakingly portrays. There are endless human dimensions to any struggle. I'm not a military man but I am keen to the history of WWII. My father watched from a mango tree as the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor and immediately after joined the Navy.... On the beach at Normandy during a vacation I walked down to the surf and decided to run from the water's edge to the cliffs. Who does that? Just to get a physical taste of that effort. Of course no one was shooting at me but it probably wouldn't have mattered. I'm convinced I wouldn't have made it. The surprise for me was at the end of the film with the memorial tribute to your dog. I had just lost my dog of 16 years and watched the entire movie thinking of her. How did you know?

As a tank enthusiast I must say: It is simply outstanding that you used real tanks. It's not easy to get them I am sure, even the guns were real! The attention to details was amazing, how the M36 used the coaxial machine gun was something I haven't seen in other movies. The STUG and the T-34s were really well depicted as well, how they used infantry support just like they did back then. The Tiger mockup was on point, unlike other obvious ones. Saving Private Ryan can't compete with it. In terms of story and realism, it's the best I've seen so far. I would definitely watch it again! 👏👏👏

Authentic weapons for the American and German infantry squads during the D-Day invasion. Even the Winchester pump shotgun used by that American Sargent. Walther P-38 and 1911a1 pistols. Garrand M-1 and Mauser 98-K rifles. Even the water canteens on both sides was historically correct. Appears to be historically accurate on the Eastern Front too. Very impressive collection of armored vehicles. armored cars( rare to see in movies) ,a brand new tiger 1 tank fresh from production line?, a shocking Volkswagen beetle in camouflage! Then your T34 no. 36 has ability to ressurrect itself? Nice to see a Hetzer. The armored vehicles gave realism to the movie.
@tinostruckmann4 жыл бұрын
Don't forget the Volkswagen Beetle is perfectly historically correct and yeah well we only had one t-34 so there :-)

I think it’s cool that Klaus is in command of a Field Division Kompanie on the Eastern Front. By late 1943 Field Divisions were transferred from Luftwaffe to Heer control, and the German Army took over as officers. By 1944 you see the mix of Heer and Luftwaffe equipment and uniforms depicted in the beginning of the movie. Very neat, and the only time Luftwaffe Field Divisions make an appearance in a WW2 movie.
@tinostruckmann Жыл бұрын
If you notice many of the scenes with the equipment gear and mix of Weaponry all the way up to the haircuts all have been taken from actual photos of the Eastern Front fighting in the last year of the war

Just a note. In June 1944, roughly coincident with the Normandy landings or a little before, the Russians unleashed Operation Bagration on the Eastern Front. This is also known as "The Destruction of Army Group Center". This was actually the decisive battle of 1944, finally reaping the rewards of their 1943 victory at Kursk. They utterly destroyed much of the German Army and ended up going from Belarus, the eastern Ukraine and the remaining occupied sections of western Russia to the east bank of the Vistula in Poland. This and the Normandy landings were the final impetus for the desperate July 20, 1944 coup attempt against Hitler which was a bloody failure. The German soldiers resisting the Western Allied invasion were not only serving the interests of Hitler's evil regime, but the interests of Stalin's even more evil empire as it expanded west. It's hard to have any sympathy for them unless they were part of July 20th. Especially if they killed your relatives or the relatives of friends of yours. Every day they allowed the Hitler regime to survive was another day the crematoria disposed of their murdered victims.

I liked it very much: it was well acted, well directed, with a solid plot, and it didn't make to regret Hollywood CG for sure. If i had just a small suggestion, probably compatible with the budget, it was to "connect" more the photography color-lumetry in editing from cut to cut, because it was truly the only thing that suggested me that it was a low budget movie. Grat job, congratulations to all the crewe and thx for sharing it here.

Thank you for saying so you're right about the color correction though I didn't have what I needed to do that but if I ever do a clean re- release I will fix that

Mr Silva I always thought that many of the Nazi soldiers had 2 choices, Hitler bullets or Alies. Either way they were dead. I felt so sorry for the German people. They were lied to same as the American people.

@@tinostruckmann The difference between main stream HollyWood war movie is that ,you use real German tanks , German actors speaking German ascents compared to HollyWood using US m48,M60 as the main German tiger tanks vs US Shermans ,not realistic . Tino, thank you for producing a fun movie! I spent more time watching this film than actually working!! I enjoy watching movies based on real events and wondered how you gathered all the vehicles for the film? Of course, no movie can be 110% accurate. My only complaint - like with most European theater war movies - is that you did not use (German) actors speaking their native Deutsch. Only Germans could have brought the General’s depicted in your movie that Prussian military vibe - even if they knew they were losing the war. Otherwise - great movie!!!
