When I was 18, this guy lived in my apartment complex. I used to hear him practicing, and sometimes I'd go over and say hello. He was always a really gracious guy, putting up with me pestering him about all things guitar and blues related. I remember when he got that Stratocaster that he's playing here. He said it was a 1961, and he let me play it. I said "Ohhhh, now I see what all the fuss is about with old Strats! Many years later in 2014, I built a parts caster out of old parts, and that one is what I tried to build. The sound and the feel of Tinsley's 61 was my bench mark. I got pretty close, but I never would have really understood what it was that I wanted to build if not for Tinsley. The man is a 5 star guitarist and a 10 star human being. One of the best on planet earth. Thanks, bro. You da big chief!

i used to see them play at the harvest moon in atlanta in the 80's

When me and my buddies were in our early 20s and broke, we used to go to Ken's Tavern right next door, and load up on the 25 cent drafts that they had for happy hour, and then go next door to the Harvest Moon and listen to Tinsley when it was Chicago Bob and the Heartfixers. (Bob was an awesome harmonica player) Tinsley used to play behind his head and use beer bottles for slides, and spill the beer all over his guitar and everything else. The guy was one of the top 5 reasons why Atlanta was a great place to live in those days. He was Atlanta's version of Stevie Ray. Some of my best memories from those times!
