🐝 Tinted Lip Balm DIY Directions:
Ingredients:
* 5 TBSP melted tallow balm
* 1 tsp beeswax
* 2 TBSP honey
* 15 drops strong essential oil (cinnamon, peppermint) or 25 drops mild essential oil
* 1 1/2 tsp mica powder
Instructions:
1. Melt tallow balm until it is liquid.
2. Measure melted tallow balm and beeswax into a glass, heat safe pitcher.
3. Create a double boiler by putting the glass pitcher on a cloth inside a pan of water.
4. Heat water to a gentle simmer.
5. Once tallow and beeswax mixture are completely melted and combined, remove from heat.
6. Stir mixture with a fork until mixture cools enough so that honey stays suspended and does not separate.
7. Add essential oils and mica powder and mix thoroughly.
8. Pour into tins and allow to harden in the freezer.
9. Remove from freezer, allow to come to room temperature, and enjoy.

Aw, there's "hibiscus" in the title, but no hibiscus in the ingredients. I kinda dissapointed. But i like the honey! Btw, since there's honey in it, but nor preservatives, could you kindly inform how long will it last? Thanks!

Can you use hibiscus powder instead of mica and coconut oil instead of tallow I use tallow in my recipes so I like to reserve it for that!

I haven't tried that, but it might work! You may need more beeswax, since coconut oil is softer than tallow :)

It's very shelf stable. There's no water, so it should be good for a year or more.

I'm not sure, I haven't tried that. I would think it wouldn't change the shelf life, since there is still no water. It should still be very stable.

I absolutely loved everything you are doing except the mica it's actually not healthy for the skin and can cause major lung issues if you inhale the powder, and honestly your red mica powder has a added property to get its color it's called Iron Oxide which is the safest way to tint completly organic natural beauty products.

I was asking because I thought that hibiscus was going to be added to the recipe, and I was wondering how you got that color... I make mine with hibiscus powder and the color comes up more like a nude color. The title got me confused.
