Tintin goes in search of a stolen wooden idol and tries to find out why two South American crooks are also so interested in getting their hands on the seemingly worthless artifact.

I normally hate it when in various TV/Movie adaptations they change so much of the plot, but now that you've pointed it out, I think I like the animated version better, I never realized how convoluted the original book was :=). Guess I'll have to dust off my copy and read it and see if I can spot the difference :=)

@@robbiewalker2831 Oh yes, agreed, but sometimes adaptations go too far and change so much that it has little to no resemblance to the source material

I prefer the animated version, it's more focused and didn't rely on a deus ex machina to have Tintin escape the bad guys' grasp.. BTW, you should do WAY MORE of this, I love this as a Tintin fan.

Yeah, but the animated version lacks a lot of funny scenes, like Tintin getting drunk and praising the dictator for instance, or the multiple assassination attempts.

The first one, maybe, yeah, but the second one wasn't that funny, IMO, and felt like filler.

@@AlkisenSuperonestly I don’t mind them taking out a few funny scenes in favour of staying as close to the plot and making a more focused narrative as possible. Not saying I didn’t enjoy said funny moments In the comic which had me In stitches.

I can see why Nelvana didn't want to put Tintin in blackface. Also why they never tried to adapt Tintin in the Congo. Yeesh.

Honestly I’m surprised TinTin In The Congo is still sold, I remember even when I was a kid and would buy a new Tintin book every time I went to Waterstones my parents refused to let me get it because of how racist it was

One thing I never got in this story General Alcazar ends up hating Tintin but whenever he shows up in later books he greets him as an old friend and is very friendly towards him
@ChiefMedicPururu

You're talking about General Alcazar. That's why I also prefer the animated version, that moment is non-existent in that, which is more preferable in hindsight.

Thanks I’ll edit it yeah that element always confused me how one moment he’s his enemy and a traitor but then the next he’s an old friend

Well I never actually read Tintin, I only went over a few pages. To me the character looks like a kid or a teenager at least.

He’s never been given a clear age he’s described as a boy usually or a young man so I’d say in his super late teens or his early 20’s

Yeah not one of my Favorites. It lacks the outragious Insensitivity of the first tri, for the most Part, but is very boring, whit Tintin just running around, subpar Art, the most interesting Stuff happens ofscreen, and Mysterys getting unraveled by just Infodumps. Its a Shame, because the Idea and Setting had Potencial.
