They are great fun. While working up in Nhulunbuy our warehouse faced the water and in the morning you could see the tuna schools working the shallows and I was lucky enough on a day off to catch a northern short fin...that night the BBQ steaks were magnificent.

Never caught a northern short fin, do they fight hard aswell

The one I caught was rather unspectacular as it came straight to the boat and gaffed but the other one hook took the other bloke on a couple of trips around the boat. I actually preferred my method :D @@On-PointAdventures

What did you ditch the old poly?

The poly was a truely amazing vessel, however it sort of took away from what this channel was about which was affordable fishing, when the pink boat was near on 30k it fell out of the affordable bracket. We are now back in a 4.2m tinny that anyone can afford which hopefully inspires others to give it a whirl. There is an up and comming ep on this soon.

Agreed mate was about to buy a 4.1 challenger but way too expensive compared to an aluminium tinny for same size.

Anything 80-115mm long is dynamite

Maybe a silly question but I'm persuading they taste better than what the canned tuna does?

No comparison, fresh tuna is terrific
