The Westfalia Jules Verne Avantgarde is a tiny camper with toilet, shower and kitchen. As it is a tiny camper, the shower and kitchen are quite small too. Built on the Mercedes platform, this tiny camper does not come at a tiny price!
I live in a motorhome full time and travel around Europe in it. I spend most of my time in Poland, Germany and Italy. Vanlife is my life.
In my KZbin channel, I present reviews of recreational vehicles. Here you will find campervans and motorhomes from the cheapest camper vans to the most expensive luxury liners, from various companies including Hobby, Hymer, Carthago, Westfalia, Wingamm, La Strada, Frankia, Wavecamper, Maurer, Dreamer, Itineo, Rapido, Clever Vans, Pössl, Bürstner, Niesmann Bischoff, Action Mobil, Reisemobil Manufaktur, Robeta, Trigano, Challenger, EuraMobil, Karmann Mobil, Laika, Forster, Mobilvetta Design, Affinity, Globe Traveller, Benimar, Roller Team, Adria, Bocklet, Woelcke,Tourne, Megamobil, VW, Mercedes, CS, Renault, Ford, Fiat, Carado, Sunlight, Baileys, Chausson, Balcamp, Knaus, Weinsberg, Murvi, Bliss, Mitsubishi, Woelcke, Reisemobile Bürow, Holzmobil, Giotti Line, Florium, Fleurette, Ahorn, Westfalia, Space Camper, Orange Work, Concorde, Womondo, Protec, Auto Sleeper, Dethleffs, Ilusion, Gehocab, Malibu, Pilote, Wild Ax, Vantage, Bresler, Tom's Fahrzeugtechnik, Morelo, Swift, Carado and others.
I do this by regularly attending trade events such as CMT Stuttgart, Abenteuer und Allrad, Caravan Salon Dusseldorf, Warsaw Caravan and Camping Show and sometimes others.
I cover equipment, including 12v electrical equipment and talk a lot about lithium batteries.
I also show some of the places I have visited in Europe in my own motorhome, as well as the places you can stay at! I try to give as much coverage as I can to official campsites and free places which I use for overnighting. Therefore you can find here the aire or stellplatz that you are possibly looking for.

Well Alan , I think your missing the point somewhat. Versatility, can be used as everyday vehicle, excellent for road trips , and if you want more space stick an awning on the side.. We love our Jules Verne.

Hi Wayne, I understand you own a Jules Vernes. If so please conform that for short trips there is enough storage for some luggage or chairs….what are the options for outside additional storage? I need a car and a van for short trips. I live between Françe and a North Africa country, so I would commute twice a year and go through Portugal and Spain. As mentioned in another comment, what’s the point to have a kitchen and no bathroom. Thanks for your input. Regards.

The camper cars with kitchen but no bathroom is ridiculous. As you might need to go to the bathroom before you finish cooking, where exactly are you going to go for that. People can always buy prepared food. If they can sleep, have a bathroom and shower, they're okay. When you can get a full, nice campervan for the same price, and they are very easy to drive also, that is the way to go.

I double that! Especially the part with the vans with kitchen but no toilet/shower. Still, what i would like to know is can you actually go from driver's seat to the toilet without popping the roof up?

I think it's slightly missing the point. It's not trying to be a Motorhome, it is a car with a bed (2) kitchen, shower and toilet and it's pretty stealthy, without the roof up, but has the option. I have just collected a bigger 7m Sprinter based one, in Europe for expedition type trips. For the UK, I have just ordered one of these. I will use it to get my head down and as a base before early morning hikes and photography for a couple of nights at a time or as base on days out. Adding 4matic, 190hp and VB air suspension to what is basically a big car makes it very useable. Even with all the extras it cost lest than my Estate car so it isn't crazy expensive.

Wouldn't you be better off with a campervan for hiking? After all, you will possibly want to wash and change your clothes when you get back - at least that is what I would want.

@@VanlifewithAlan I can hopefully wash and change my clothes in the Jules Verne. It hasn't been delivered yet, so, at the moment it's all how I plan to use it. But hopefully in time for the summer.

I think it's great what they manage to fit in there and it still looks liveable, but yeah, I'd rather get a camper van. There is a limit to how small you can go, and I think camper van is the limit for me. Or maybe someone will make a motorbike that has all these features in it... some day haha.

Yeah, or even a transformer camper, pulled by a power with pedal assist bicycle, both made with certain amounts of fiberglass and/or carbon fiber, and a camper that transforms out of one of those fold down campers, not the tents that a bear could rip into, that has bathroom and shower with transforming enclosure and clothing storage, that you could even keep in an apartment with bike separated from the closed up fiberglass or carbon fiber rectangular transformer living space. Everyone could have one all packed with essentials for trips or in Case of an emergency immediate escape like a Carrington level CME/SHTF event. These ought to be built and widely available. I've actually seen such a fold out fiberglass panel type instead of tent in a rectangular box on KZbin, but it needed some more design work and to be made light enough to pull with a pedal assist power bike or motorcycle. So it needs to be improved. The one I saw, was copied after the worst version of one of those fold down tent campers, rather than the best version. That's what happens when a backer or anyone just tries to steal someone's idea rather than be an agent/collaborator to the persons and their great idea. Everyone who had an idea to design such a thing would like the most ideal kind of mobile living quarters possible. Most of the existing ones aren't that great. However, I did see ONE that was pretty excellent on KZbin. That's the kind of design by someone who would actually like to live in one for at least a while. Instead, improve the BEST version designed/made by someone who'd actually like to live in a more beautiful version of such a camper, and you've really got something sellable. if you found out how much most would be willing to spend on such a version, it could be made within a comperable price range. If you have investment money or know how to get it, sign a non-disclosure agreement right away with an idea person, then start working on a project, and you can probably pull it off spectacularly! I am obviously such an idea person. 😀👍 I would buy a really nice one right now if it was $5,000 or under including the bike. Wouldn't you? We could start collaborating right from this page by sharing this video with our own email address so like-minded people with a similar wish, can easily find this communication place about it, right here on one of Alan's videos! 😀👍💜

It’s NOT a new word.. it’s also a shame that you become biased when showing an audience what is available only by comparing prices. The fact that these smaller units can be used as a daily driver can offset some of the price by not having to park the unit until you go camping or traveling. A dual purpose vehicle can offer much more value by its more constant use and functionality. If you want to compare only by price, an Aclass RV that is 45 feet long is clearly a bargain by square foot then. But try and take one into the car parking at Tescos or through a drive through for some fish n chips.

Hello Walter, you made a very small spelling mistake but one which changes the meaning of what you wanted to write. I know you wanted to write 'expensive'. However one letter change - the 'e' to the 'a' made the word expansive, which could mean a lot of space, or space can be created! If I may assume from your name that you are Italian, suitable translations would be espansibile, dilatabile or espansivo! I agree that the vehicle is very attractive.

The idea is that a camper van can be used as an everyday vehicle but a motor home can’t. The future is small, electric camper vans that are cheap to charge up, rather than expensive-to-run motor homes where you need to buy a car too.
