As someone who hates change, I never thought anyone could fill the Sam Healy hole in my heart. But Mike has been quite the breath of fresh air to the channel!

He's a close 2nd to Zee and that's only because Zee's humour is spot on. Anything Mike recommends for solo I mostly buy!

Tiny Epic series ranking would be awesome! Love watching these reviews. I don’t buy a game without first seeing if DT reviewed it. Great Job!!!

Great review, Mike. And I couldn't agree more. I've had so much fun playing it solo. I've also played it at 2 players and that was a blast as well. Thanks for all your excellent solo reviews. You're truly an asset to the solo community.

BTW, get your hands on a deluxe edition. It has a laboratory expansion and many more purple dinos.
@mikemudrow4 жыл бұрын
The laboratory mini expansion is cool. I don't know that I would call 2 more Dinosaur research cards "many more dinosaurs" but if that's what made it great for you, then awesome! I'm glad you like it too.
@geoffreyhawley5034 жыл бұрын
I count 6 exclusive purple dinosaurs - which, yes, isn't many. My bad.
@mikemudrow4 жыл бұрын
@@geoffreyhawley503 I see what you're saying. Yes, there were 6 dinosaurs unlocked as stretch goals during the campaign, but I think 4 of those are included in all copies of the base game, while 2 of them (and a couple other research cards) were deluxe upgrades. You're right though, they are all pretty cool! I like them quite a bit.

Thanks Mike. Just won my first solo game 73-71 against the scientist, got a little lucky he had trouble getting stegs and couldn't fulfill many contracts but he had a ton of science research points. Really enjoyed this one, I like the challenge.

Does anyone know the answer to the solo play rancher placement issue that Mike flagged in the review?? I'm literally playing my first game now and have run into the issue at the very end of the first round.

Setup: I think the (non-purple) dinos are distinctive enough, at least in good light, that they can be dumped into a single pile, from which players can pull the ones they need.

Can you do a solo review of some of the other tiny epic games? Like Zombies or Dungeon.
@TheLimestoneCowboy4 жыл бұрын
15:33 you sure you believe that , Mike? Jk, great review 1. I agree with enjoying the medium-light weight 2. I was also thrown off by being stuck with a rancher that couldn’t do anything 3. One of the best TINY EPIC rulebooks

I must have missed something because I HATED that every space on a card was considered filled. In a multiplayer games, that wouldn't happen on the 2nd action of the game. Some of these cards have 5 actions. It just felt bad to me. The game was smooth and easy to play and quite enjoyable. Solo didn't do it for me.
@Selfreplyingbot4 жыл бұрын
You feed them wrong. 4 Meat where needed. So in the end you should feed the meat eater and let one eat the plant eater. So you would have save a plant.

Keep going back and forth about whether or not to buy this. I own Dino World and fear people won’t play that with me if I own this. Thinking of this for the solo mode. I have a few TE games, but Quest is the only solo mode I play. Don’t enjoy the other solo modes much.

I play this with my 6 years old kid. Leave out the research cards and this becomes a very kid friendly game

So what's the "best" I tiny epic for solo?
@mikemudrow4 жыл бұрын
I can't speak to all of them because I've only played Galaxies, Quest, Dinos, and Zombies, but this one and Galaxies have been my favorites solo. They are simple and streamlined, with easy rulesets, and games me a real challenge. Quest was more of a beat-your-high-score solo game, which didn't appeal to me because I like beating an opponent more than myself more often than not. The rulebook for Zombies is not great (in general, but especially solo), even though the game is tons of fun. All of the games are more fun with multiple players.
@projectsisyphean4 жыл бұрын
@@mikemudrow western, quest, and zombies were my favorites for solo. Western and Zombies have ai opponents where as quest is trying to reach a certain score before the game is over
@Frusciante884 жыл бұрын
I like Quest and Tactics the most. Quest is very relaxing to play because you are adventuring on your own without AI. Tactics is a fun little skirmish. I like Dino's the least for solo because the AI's are brutally difficult.

What annoys me most is the clear similarity to other games like Dinosaur Island or Dinogenics
@SladeWeston4 жыл бұрын
I wonder if Gamelyn Games would really be offended by the implication that they blatantly copy themes and core mechanics from other popular games? I mean come on? I can't imagine anyone could play this game and Dino Island and not see the similarities. Me: I want Dinosaur Island Mom: We have Dinosaur Island at home Home: Tiny Epic Dinosaurs

I'm a little disappointed that Mike didn't just go out and say it; is the Dice Tower really worried about a lawsuit? I like a lot of the Tiny Epic line, but plagiarism in the board game industry is so rampant you have to wonder why a savvy copyright lawyer isn't finding their niche in it.

I think this game looks more of Agricola, mechanically speaking, than Dinosaur Island.
@thekarlwithak4 жыл бұрын
@@fredericoamaral95 yeah i've played all the games mentioned and i would say its closer to Agricola than Dinosaur Island. Whats different from both is you're not trying to keep your dinos and build your park. you are farming dinos to just sell for points.
