"TINY GIANTS" Ep. 1 | Enslave the Soul. Animated by Patrick Smith

In an animated world of costumed creatures of all sizes, a power struggles emerges.
For some, it's a matter of survival. For others, it's a world of self-serving progress, putting others to work for what they perceive as progress forward. Through these trials emerge a distinct code of stoicism, struggle, and individuality. But for every benevolent soul, there is a wicked shadow close by, often within the soul itself. In this first episode, we see an individual giant progressing forward on the back of his miniature subjects. Tyranny always works in this fashion, riding on the suffering of others so you can move forward to what you view as a utopian goal. All will suffer, even the soul, which is not permitted to continue the journey to the heavens. Instead, the angel is stripped of his wings, which are consumed, and placed back to work. To serve the giant in power is their function. Breaking backs, enslaving souls.. Cometh Utopia!
This is a new animated series by Patrick Smith, exclusively on KZbin. Each episode is a step in a journey of metaphorical self discovery, experimentation, and expression. There is a Giant in us all.. How you choose to control it, defines who you are.
"Tiny Giants" is a traditionally animated 2D series of short films. Technically, I use Adobe Animate, and I draw on a Wacom Cintiq. It's pretty much a one man show here, but I do need to thank my fantastic wife, and producer Kaori Ishida. I also want to thank the brilliant composer for this episode, @jackpiercecomposer, his score really guided the story and pacing of this piece. I would also like to thank all my KZbin members, as well as Patreon supporters.. despite being a small group, your support is very inspirational and keeps me going when I'm starting to feel the burn. It's so cruel how the giant is so desperate to reach his goal, that he will let neither of them free until they have finished serving the purpose that he has given them in order to satisfy his needs. Really great animation.

I noticed 2 callbacks to "Yeah the Truth". 1: The worker crumbling like the unfortunate people in that animation. 2: Said worker’s soul stretching from their body like the misfits stretching their way out of the pit. Unrelated note:I love that song!

I’m wondering what he seems in the ending, very nice animation after all, I wasn’t expecting that you are starting a new series, always with a metaphor, in this one probably get me a little confused but I think it’s about ambition or tyranny, because the guy is so obsessed to reach the way/goal that he doesn’t care about the others that helps him, they are tools, puppets, and sadly some of them believe in his disturbed point of view and helps him to reach the goal, things that repeat so much in history, every dystopia is an frustrated try or disturbed view of an utopia.

Ah this reminds me of a game that used to be out a while ago, while I forgot the games name I remember the plot and gameplay. The game had the players play as titans aligned with one of 3 gods of the world the game was set in. The titans fought each other over turf and controlled hundreds of tiny humans that they used to siege other titans turf, sacrifices to the titans chosen god and as a meal to regain health. The ultimate irony is that the titans themselves served the same role for their chosen god as the humans, the gods being so big the titans looked like ants to them and where only used to spread their followers between each others territories, to be sacrificed to help improve the god's power and to become meals to help the gods survival continue.
